Thanks to everyone for the input - now it's just a matter of working some numbers with my local dealer. I need to order the car - the 6-speeds have a 3-month lead time from the time of order. This works out nicely - hopefully I'll have my second ride by springtime. Pics to follow...

If money is no object I go for it, but you do got to think about the insurance too

Chris, if you like the car - go buy it, it's the best time of year to do so
Why ask other people opinions??
I bought my Accord for the same reason you stated - long rides and daily driving. I love it and didn't regret one second buying it.
I like the G35 from the outside but the interior looked kind of cheesey. If you can cope with it and afford the payments - go buy it!
Good luck.

If YOU think you can handle all the payment and want a second car for you daily driver, the G35 would be a good choice.

Man~~being a college student sucks...can't even live without a daddy...

Anyway the G35 is sweet, but for some reason I've seen LOTS of grandma's driving it...

The gearbox is exactly like the 350Z 6 speed. The gearbox is really nice, nice short throws and a sweet positive feel.

The G35 has tranny problems with the syncros.

The G35 is a very nice car.

The only thing I do not like is the RWD.

AWD will be an option in 2004!!!!!!!!
For the skyline fans the AWD G35 drivetrain will be the skylines.

I am not a die hard mitsu fan I am a technology junkie that can't get enough of all wheel drive.

If you do switch please get an AWD car
