need some help. car wont start

So i am in need of a little advice as to what could be wrong here. 2000 hynduai elantra with 210k. here is the issue. Car always fires right up in the morning and always right up after work. But recently for the last 2 months the car is giving me trouble. it will fire right up after work and i will go to the gym and after sitting for an hour the car wont start. gets spark but just turns over endlessly. if i let it sit for another 20 mins it will fire right up. Now i tried one thing that seems to get it to start whenever this happens and thats add some fuel. i keep a 2 gallon in the trunk so when it does this i will add half a gallon and it fires right up. car is never below 3/4 tank so i know its not just low. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

im going to do fuel pump tmrw...strange thing to me is every time i have had to do a fuel pump on a car, there are more symptoms. Usually sputtering or stalling when driving. I have absolutely no issues other then the random not starting untill either i let it sit for 20 mins after trying or if i add a splash of fuel. Ive tried sloshing the fuel around by pushing the car and this doesnt seem to help either. so strange to me.

my evo is to fast to drive everyday lol. this is my to and from work beater. but thanks i guess i will give the fuel pump a try...had a few bad fuel pumps in my day and never once did any act like this.. but i cant think of anything else it would be. i just dont see how a splash of fuel can make it fire right up all of a sudden
