First bike...

Thinking its time to get a bike. Never drove one before. I was thinking of getting the ninja 250r but im not sure if i should get the 3rd gen or 4th gen, I want the 4th cause it looks way better, but accoring to some sites the 4th weighs 75lbs more(300 for 3rd gen and 375 for 4th) although one site said the 4th gen was 333. Im thinken since its my first maybe stick with the lighter one first... What do you guys think??
thanks!

go with any gen 250, you really cant go wrong...since you've never ridden before, get all the basic dynamics down first...not to mention WHEN you drop it, it'll be much easier to handle...

Id get a dirtbike first if youve never riden a motorcycle before street bikes are extremely dangerous. Ive been racing motocross since i was 5 and i still would never ride a streetbike. Know too many people that have gotten killed off them

unfortunately, that is the sad truth...

riding dirt also conditions you to have a higher level of control in sticky situations. i certainly wouldn't have half the bad habits i do now if i started out on dirt.
