I was talking to a friend today who owns a older 80's firebird. He has a 350 in it and thats about it. He took it to cecil PA and ran low 16's which i think is pathetic for a V8. But he said he heard that with the right driver that his car could run an easy high 12 1/4 mile. Is it possible to change your 1/4 mile time by that much just by changing the drivers. Cause when i ran my old eclipse, I got pretty dang close to the 1/4 mile time and the 0-60 time from the factory......so is my friend BSing me or what.

to get low (even in the 12s)12s, he'd have to get a 150 shot of nitrous oxide, more suspension components than the car is worth, a new ignition to handle the nitrous, slicks, and an excelent driver.

that's not the 350 though. the 350 is the 5.7l LT1 engine. same thing that powers vettes....
