Amazing Drag Race
If you were to go 1/2 mile you would have the Z06 passing it, AMG SLS passing it, Audi passing it, the Ferrari passing it and you can say thanks that there were not Buggatis, Porsche GT2, Porsche Turbos, Lambos, Viper ACR, or Corvette ZR1s.
As you can see, the GTR was lucky to not being in a group with the real big dogs. It marginally won by one tenth only on the 1/4 mile. There are baddest cars out there and not from Japan!!!!!!!

Fastest Nurburgring times belongs to RWD cars . I owned the following AWD cars( in case I get challenged):
4 Eclipses AWD
3 Evos AWD
1 WRX AWD
2 Stealth R/T AWD
1 Porsche 911(964) AWD
AWD can be beat for sure!! Most of the real fast drag cars are RWD. A GTR cost $89950 + tax+registration+delivery destination+any options= well over $100,000 this does not include the dealers mark ups. This is not the cheapy car that every one had in mind folks!, this is not the "$65000" bargain that everyone was hoping for.
Ask anyone in Tucson, AZ, the local Nissan Dealer on 22nd Avenue had a mark up of $25000 on their Nissan GTRs. They all can zuck my dik!!
Lets be realistic here folks. I got a new Z06 in 2008 for $7000 below MSRP and got a new 09 (back in 09)Mercedes Benz C63 AMG for $12000 off MSRP. You will never get deals like that on a GTR that is why I consider the GTR not a "bargain".

Thanks for sharing man! Definitely a cool vid. Was very curious between the Ferrari and Nissan. +1 for driver definitely having a huge effect in this close race.
Chad, they said it was 1.5mil combined I believe.
And yes the GT-r took off immediately! Pretty cool

can you guys relax... its just a cool video of cars racing.. im sure alot of factors could have been changed to alter the outcome. but guess what.. under these conditions, this is what happened.. put down the rulers and enjoy.
AWD is superior for versatility of terrain.
99% of people drive on publicly paved roads, and around here, even a C5 ZO6 has a hard time hooking up. That is just plain no fun.
Yes on a strip it evens things up. But really, who lives at the dragstrip? Not me.
Only on that tiny and narrow test but in other test the "japanese" car would have been wiped by far superior american or european cars.

When running a 1/4 mile, getting off the line is extremely important for good times. For these stock vehicles, AWD is going to give a big advantage. If the race had been 1/8 mile, the AWD would have been even more of an advantage. If they extended that race to 1/2 mile, the AWD wouldn't be so important and one of the more powerful RWD vehicles would have won.
