Don't you mean an RB25 or RB26?

Plus its not exactly drop-in. You'll need some special motor mounts and modify the steering rack unless you use the rack from the doner car,all pretty easy fixes. SCC did a write up on this same swap a few months back and detailed it out nicely.

Also I'm assuming you meant RB26DET. I'm not familiar with any RB20DET's.

RB20 - 2 Litre I6

Common to fit Rb20's into R31's here

I'll be damned, and I thought I was nissan educated.

What type of cars did they come in and whats the performance like? That thing must have some pretty small pistons for a 2 liter I6 or a super short stroke, which I guess nissan is kinda known for. Anyway, more details if you have them. Sounds pretty interesting.

I always get them mixed up with the RB25, as the rocker covers and intake design are the same

i'm pretty sure they are a short stroke engine, i can find our more tonight from Eon if you want.. he's all upto spec with the nissans ( he owns an R33 see www.geocities.com/chosenms thats his car but no specs atm)

Yea, I just found a site that goes pretty in depth about it.

Pretty cool stuff. I guess they came in the Nissan Laurel and Skyline GTS untile 94, the old fairlady Z of the late 80's and a few others. Seems to be rated at around 215 hp. Interesting motor.

Heres a link if I can do this right. http://www.rb20det.com/modellist1.html

Yep, the R32's got it.. i'm pretty sure there was a SOHC version running about too, which get the flick in favour on of the DOHC..
