Exclamation Need Intake Help Asap

okay guys well my girl got an aem short ram intake for xmas for her 00 cavalier auto. i installed it tonight, yes at 1am, but anyway after hooking it all up the car rev's to 4k then drops to 3500 then back up to 4k and keeps doing this, i let it go for bout 10-15 seconds then turned the car off caus ei dont wanna wake the neighbors, can someone please tell me why it is doing this, do i need to reset the ecu? and if so i can i just unhook the negative battery cable?

disconnect the negative for about 15, make sure you didn't disconnect the iat or map sensors, sounds like the check engine light should be on because it seems like it's in fail-safe mode.

so after i unplug the battery for 15, and if it still does it it might be sumtin else?

When you install anything new and reset the ECU to adapt to it... it's normal for the car to rev up like that then rev down slowly. When you drive around for the first 1-2 days the car will feel like it's about to stall on u sometimes (somtimes it will actually stall). But after it adapts it should run fine.
