650HP + 600TQ = 2013 Ford GT500
I owned a '68 coupe and a '67 Fastback (both highly modified) back in the day and worked for a couple of Ford backed race teams. With that being said, putting down 650bhp to the rear wheels of the 2013 will be traction challenged on the old school type suspension. Hopefully Ford will bring the rest of the car to the 21st century in the near future.
As for GT-R being so last year. That can't be further away from the truth. As much as i love the 'Stang. It's a dinosaur compared to it.

I dunno, I think people complaining about traction in a Shelby Mustang are completely missing the point. When have Shelby Mustang's ever been about ultimate traction?
They are about super high performance tire shredding fun.
And seriously, complaining about a solid rear axle on a Mustang is like complaining that 911's have rear engine layouts. If Mustang 302's can hold their own on the track, then what does it matter if it has a solid rear axle? If you don't like driving with one, fine, but it isn't exactly holding back the performance anymore - just like 911's aren't being held back by their layout anymore.

If you want to do something other than shred tires, like being quick and going fast. You'll need traction.
Wow. I have been waiting for someone to make this thread. In all honesty, its really nothing left with Mitsubishi for me. I've done just about everything I wanted to do with these cars, and Ford has given me a reason to want to try somethign new. I'm really stuck on the boss 302. There are couple out there now making well over 700 on stock motor (I think theres even one making a little over 800 to wheels). Ford has brought back that legenday displacement of 5.0 liters, but they adapted all the technology that many of today's imports have, i.e., DOHC and variable cam timing. Hell, they're even making turn key race Ford Focus (the ST-R).
