My New Winter Beater
My New Winter Beater
Since I have poured all my extra money over the past 8 years into my Evo making it faster, I have decided to put the Evo away for the winters permanently. Don't get me wrong, with the right tires the Evo transforms into a snowmobile. My concern is not my driving, as I love to drive my Evo in the snow. My concern is everybody else on the road.
Well, as many of you know, other cars aren't as fun as an Evo. They are not as fast or nimble, and they don't give you that sense of pleasure from driving them, that you get when you are in your Evo. So naturally an Evo owner is going to be particular of what their other cars would be.
So I picked up a '09 BMW 335i to DD.

The BMW has the sport package, so it comes with 18'' Bridgestone RE-050's 255/35/18 in the rear, run to the tire calculator, the 215/50/17 Hankook Ipikes from the Evo work! FTW! Order a set of Beyern Mesh 17x8s and here is how she sits for the winter.

I know there is something wrong with me for buying a RWD for the winter...but its soo much fun! I did drive a '91 240sx through a couple of winters, with crappy all seasons, no traction control and no ABS. That was a blast! Although quite challenging at the same time. So the BMW with all its gadgets and purpose made rubber should be a breeze to have fun with and still get me where I am going; without the, I am going to spin off any second feeling.
