I have been building a track purpose sti and have everything done but motor/tranny. So my question is can you swap a evo motor/tranny into a sti drivetrain? Thanks for your time

Everything is possible with money and time. The better question is, why haven't you just bought an Evo?

Sure it can be done.

You need the following:
A lot of motivation, time, money, skills, more skills, milling machine, CNC, laser cutter, welder mig and tig, etc etc etc

I've seen an LS1 swapped into an Evo....

Better yet just do an LS1 swap it would be easier.

I have a good friend putting a Evo motor in a Lexus IS300. Anything is possible with money. Question is when it gets to the point when its not worth it.

A lot of both of those and you should be right. Getting the inline motor and trans into a spaced designed for a horizontally opposed setup is enough to deter me from even thinking about doing it. Before even thinking about connecting it to the drivetrain.

The only time I've ever seen a different engine in a Subaru was a 13B (rotary) in a legacy station wagon. Which would probably be easier than a 4G63.

Transverse or longitudinal mount?

Sell the subaru, buy an evo. Stop whining about the exterior and get some choice body pieces.

A LS swapped into a subi is rare. Their is only one person in the US that has done so.
