I don't know about everyone else, but a new Z with an RB in it is just about perfect in my book. Great chassis, good looks, good brakes, and now because of that swap, it has all the power you could need. I love the attempt too. Its like when SP put a 2JZ into that RX7, the "Supra7" as everyone calls it. Taking the best of both worlds and combining. I've only seen cars with RB's 4 times in my life (3 GT-Rs and a RB swapped 240), but everytime I see one, or read about it, it just becomes more and more of a supreme engine in my book. Just love it. And a Z with one is just all the better.

PM me and I can send you a great video of Nagata-San, the CEO of Top Secret driving a RB-powered Supra along the A1 of UK at 190 mph.

You really can't say anything bad about a car with a RB or 2JZ, because it'll own you either with acceleration or top-end.

Personally I love these hybrids, much more original than "Mark" from Orange County and his B18C5 powered Civic Hatch. If people are going to do more wicked swaps I say bring it. Nothing beats an RX-7 that sounds like a Supra or a 350Z that spools so loud you hear it coming .5 miles away.

I honestly believe that the 2JZ-GTE and the RB26DETT were the best two engines made to date, bar NONE.

The new Nissan 3.5 VQ is supposedly a great engine, but being an N.A. engine to begin with it will never reach the potential it could have had if it were a 3.0 Twin. 5 Years of R&D will bring a lot out of that engine I'm sure.....but it'll never replicate the 1200+ hp that Top Secret or Jun or whoever else can make with an RB.

I agree 100% with that. Its sad that engines just can't be made like they used to because of emmissions and what not. That and the fact that just about everyone is making engines that platform share to the extreme. Makes for more profits for the company and good engines are definately made, but it limits the potential of the engine. When you have everything from an Altima all the way up to the FX35 using a form of the VQ engine, it just takes away some of the luster of the engine. I always liked it when only certain cars got a certain engine. Oh well, I guess thats what we'll have to deal with these days.

There are some great engines out there still. The VQ engine is a fantastic engine, Honda's new K-series is great, and the Renesis is real nice. But all are normally aspirated, and that just limits things big time from the start. Sure, you can make a big power turbo K-series, but it takes some work. Where as, to get big boost from the 4G63, you just need a big turbo and a boost controller and a few little extras. Soooo much easier. Easier, but turbos are just not good with emmissions, and thats the big killer these days. Sucks, but thats the state of things in the auto world.

I agree with you though. The 2JZ, RB, 13B, 4G63, SR20, 3SGTE, EJ20, and 6G72 were all great engines that have past. Even though the 4G63 and EJ20 are still in use, you have to know they will be replaced shortly. Its sad, but its going to happen. Mitsu will prob come up with some new engine with full MIVEC and whatnot, and Subaru is already on its way with the new 2.5 US Spec STi engine. Not totally new, but its a pretty big change from the normal 2.0 in the other cars.

I'll PM you for that movie, it sounds sweet. Top Secret is the shizz when it comes to big power. Weren't they the ones that had that sweet 350Z that did the big super roll in the desert at like 200mph???? Anyhoo, laters.
