Good observation... yes, you are right, they are catless but you can still outflow the stock upipe specially when you run significantly more boost(8psi) and have stuff like Equal lenght headers etc. I am also going to add a dominator 1.5 XTR turbo very soon. The cobb up-pipe that I have is slightly bigger than the stock.

True that. I got the C6 Z06 new in 08 and I spent about $7000 on engine mods when the car had only 1400 miles. I then got "tired " of the car and got me a C63 AMG, which I modded and was making nearly 600hp but also got "tired of the car".

I am stying away from the GTR all together, that $24500 transmission retail cost makes me have butterflies on my stomach. At one point I almost purchased the GTR new in 08 but you got to love the dealers and their humor asking $25000 mark up .

I got my 4th Evo this week. It is a 05 Silver Evo 8 MR, just like the new one that I got 8 years ago.

I do want a ride! Let me know where you are hanging these days. If you are ever on the NW side, let me know.

Do you have both E85 and 91 tunes on the AP for the larger injectors?

Jim

Jim,

Nice to hear back from you. Yes, I have both tunes, i recently got the car tune by IAperformance and I can switch the maps via Cobb AP. Yes, I am on 1100cc injectors.

We need to get together so that I can show you my recent purchased(my 4th Evo), you got to love me!! It is a Evo 8 MR just like the one that I got 8 years ago new.

I am being told that is the luck of the straw(English is not my first language so I am not sure if I said it right). Basically I am trying to say that is a hit or miss from what I heard.

Thanks,

Thanks Dallin,

That is a great turbo and good setup on these cars. We have a few local customers running these on their cars and have had great feedback from them We look forward to helping you as well

Thanks,
Dallin

Yeh aside from the ringland issue, these babies are sweet. Like the body style more than the evo's for sure.

Congrats on the new ride my brother bought a new 12 STI Limited back in April he had a 05 STI before it.
at 7,000 miles with just a cobb AP invidia exhaust the motor blew it was the ring land cyl 4!

the dealer gave us a hard time.. we took the car in bone stock with no evidence of it being modified they were saying "were not gonna cover it you abused it" my bro said "I put 80k miles on my 05 STI from day 1 that car never gave me a problem!"

After calling SOA they decided they will cover it just this one time 2000 miles after getting the car back from dealership cyl 4 is going again because of the same symptoms from the 1st time: White smoke on start up... a compression test will determine how bad it is...the car is BONE STOCK and stock map

This is why I am sticking to Evos! I told my bro buy a EVO X instead but he is a die hard Subie fan.. and bought the STI
The car just sits in the garage it can blow anytime so a local speed shop will build it forged pistons, rods, head studs, the usual goodies everything will be about 5 grand with dyno tune.
