Detuned STi engine?

 

yep, one of my buddies that owns a WRX is thinking about getting the Baja to build the ultimate sleeper(?) he said that the baja is internally the same as the STi and the only difference is the turbo... not sure if thats correct but hes a subaru guy and he reads more about that stuff than i do. Yep watch out for those on the road.

 

I thought the Baja & Forrester had the SOHC 2.5L F4 from the Outback vs. the 2.5L DOHC F4 from the STi. I believe the dimension of the blocks are the same for these two engines, but that's about it...

 

The new turbo models have the EJ257 which is the USDM STi block. The only difference is the turbo, engine management, and exhaust. Subaru ran an add that read "The mighty 350z just got beat by a family of four, and a dog." This refers to its 0-60 time of around 5.6 seconds(can't remember exactly).

 

lol that would suck to buy a 350z and get beat by a BAJA! i mean its normal for a lancer ES or OZ to get beat but a 350z thatsk ind of random. gesh.

those cars are pretty fast then.

 

Basically by next year everything from subaru is going to have a turbo. Several will be 2.5 liter turbos
