Another matte clear plasti-dip (2013 Black WRX)
Looks awesome!
I did my wife's wheels in matte black and they have held up great over the last 6 months. Just ordered some blaze blue for my wheels.
I may even paint the evo matte white in the spring.

I'm spraying a 2013 Electric Blue Ford Focus ST today. I will update with pictures.
Taking the car through a touch free car wash and just getting the "basic wash" is the best. Unlike normal paint the plastidip cleans very easy with high pressure water and the car literally looks brand new afterwards.

I noticed you mentioned clear coats. Watching the dipyourcar videos they don't mention using a clear. Have you done one without clear and what clear do you use?

For the GG Evo IX, the previous black WRX and this Focus, I am using a Matte Clear. So, no matter what color the car is originally, after spraying a matte clear over it, it will be a matte version of what ever color the car WAS. The matte clear doesn't change the color of the car, it only changes the finish (ie: gloss to matte).
The WRX, in this thread, was NOT sprayed with a matte black. The car was originally gloss black, and I hit it with the matte clear, and now it's matte black. Make more sense?
So, for the Focus ST...I will be hitting the gloss Electric Blue with the Matte Clear, and it will come out like a Satin/Matte Electric Blue.
Usually I keep it to 3 light coats with the Matte Clear - this gives it a nice satin finish and keeps a little bit of sheen. Too many coats, or too thick of coats and it starts to get too frosty.
Hope that cleared it up!
EDIT: I have only sprayed clear dip on cars. I should be doing a matte army green VW this weekend or next though.
Wash, dry, quick wax , then I use some of the DYC pre-dip spray - which I believe is some form of wax and grease remover, then I spray.
I've peeled off the drivers side door of the Evo IX to check the paint condition, and it looks exactly how I did before I sprayed it...spotless. I did this just so I know that it's working and doing it's job, and it definitely is.
The is a shop out here in CA that does this, I'm going to look into this. If it's less that $750, I may just get this done.
How does it holdup with time and chips from rocks on the highway?

PM'd you with pricing info.
On any vehicle but our Evo's (thin clear coat) I would lightly wet sand with maybe 1000g then spray. This will help it stick and hold for longer periods of time. If you ever wanna go back, buff the clear with a good compound after the dip is removed. That's just me.
I think you don't understand what's going on so I will explain a little better.

I really want to do my tarmac black in matte white. I noticed your in New Hampshire, pretty cold up there this time of year, right? You do this inside or out? I did the grill of the wife's car as well and leaving it direct sun light seemed to effect the dip some as it has some imperfections, even with 5 coats (yeah went overboard). It was in the garage but the front was slightly exposed to the sun. I cleaned it really well, wondering if it's a combo of the plastic and heat from the sun?
Here is a pic of the wife's. Wheels, grill and rear emblems are "dipped."
I'd like to see the matte green VW. Maybe PM me your email or something if you don't mind sharing.
Thanks for all the info!
