Conquest/Starion
I know a guy that has a Starion & I hear its mean. What do you guys know about them? I hear its rear-wheel-drive and has a front mount intercooler. Does it have the 4g63 engine?

man that is a little old school for me, dont really know the exact specifacations but i know it is an awesome platform. If it is in good shape, fair price, and runs ok could be a really fun project car
Conquest stuff
I had an 88 Starion for 2 years, and then an 89 Conquest for about 3 years. I loved the cars very much, but they are extremely labor intensive to maintain. The 2.6 motor is pretty strong but the Alloy head cracks very easily. I did a bunch of work to the 89, but it was always something else needed. I am very handy with these cars and rebuilt the 89 from top to bottom. BUT it cost a fortune, and I sold it for $2500, bought a 91 GSX for $5000 that ran 13's. It ran trouble free and got me hooked on AWD.
My best advice would be to leave it as stock as possible with STOCK boost, otherwise you will crack the head, they are extremely prone to this. www.racetep.com was by far the most helpful people on these cars. they also have a bunch of links to classifieds. If you still buy one, make sure it is an 88 or 89, they have the best ECU's and fuel system. The earlier ones are nothing but trouble, be warned !
Personally you cannot beat a 1st gen GSX for overall ability, tunability and reliability !!!!
Of course thatsj ust my 2 cents.......

The starions come out with the SOHC '63, and if you are lucky, you can get the turbo version running the TC05..
My friend has one setup for drift races, and for an 80's car, it sure teaches the nissans

stock head can hold 15 psi b4 craking, keep it @ 12-14 and have fun.
it can be replaced with the magna head from AU. or a clearwater head
from US. look @ some of my post I have starquest sites on 1 of them
there you will find out tons, tons of worthy info on this odd breed of car
which has the title for fastest production car from japan from 82-86

one of these tried to race me on the freeway last thursday. he kept getting on his gas and getting off it...causing his BOV to VTA all around my car. i was getting low on gas so i decided to not waste it on him. lol
