Subaru BRZ
Subaru BRZ
I was watching a show yesterday.
Crawford performance took a 2.0 NA BRZ and turbo charged it.
What really stood out was when Crawford said "mod for mod, the BRZ makes 100hp more than the STI with same mods"
How cool is that?

Crawford has done a lot with the BRZ's. A friend and I test drove an FR-S not to long ago and let me say this... if NOTHING else, that car has hands down the BEST shifter in any car including any aftermarkets I ever felt. They were short, crisp, no play in it. It handled very well (of course due to it's weight) and it was a very very nice little car for the money. The downsides were that the seats suck, no lumbar and no where near the comfort of an Evo seat (much like my just sold WRX), and the room in the car was a little bit of a tight fit and i'm 5'9 170, so not a big guy... however I expect that from that car. Those issues can be changed or adjusted for, but the power is just something that unless you're going to boost it for 6 grand or more, it's so boring, it really takes away from the driving experience. Even if it had just more torque without added HP it would be a great car, but perhaps part of that is the lightness of the car and not wanting to lose the back end. Guys are on the Subie and FR-S sites all the time looking for more power and complaining about how Subaru goes back and forth about adding power and then not adding more power and a turbo is supposedly "to big for the engine bay" (though people do it all the time and even add a V8 to some of them). I read that in the next year power might be upped to 220-230 hp (still NA) so that might help a little with a car of that weight.
Still overall, it's a great little car and is a good quality... especially for the pretty low price tag. With 300 HP on a actual road course or auto X... I wouldn't bet against it is all i'll say.
