BP Auto Tokyo Auto Salon 2014 Coverage!!
One of our favorite events every year is Tokyo Auto Salon in January where Japanese tuners show off the latest iterations of their demo cars and manufacturers debut or officially release their newest parts. Every year we're there in force to bring you the most up-to-date info on the newest and most innovative parts brought to you by the highest quality performance parts manufacturers in Japan.
Last year we were honored to have an exciting customer's GTR grab lots of headlines at Auto Salon where it was featured in the prestigious RAYS Wheels booth. This year we're excited to bring some new fire to the game.
While we are always excited for Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS), this year holds something special in store for us again. This time it's not a customer's GT-R but instead our own FR-S Concept One which many of you saw at SEMA is currently in Japan and was proudly displayed in the RAYS booth. We were honored that RAYS chose us again this year and that the two most important Japanese performance magazines RevSpeed and Option have provided the support to make it all happen, along with our long term partners at Varis Mfg Co. We always dreamed of sending one of our own cars to compete with the best in Japan and this year the stars have finally aligned. To further our dreams and expectations, our car is currently being shipped out to get further tuned by the world renown performance parts manufacturer and tuner Powerhouse Amuse and from there it'll attend the Amuse Track Day event where our Concept One FR-S will see some actual track time and be a part of some Time Attack Events. We're also looking forward to seeing how our car does at the world famous Tsukuba track so definitely tune in for that!!

One of those said manufacturers was our long time partner and friends Varis who brought out some new goodies for the Evo X platform. As some of you fortunate few already know, the Varis Version 2 kit was recently released and was officially revealed at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon. The Varis Version 2 kit for the Evo X consists of a freshly updated front and rear bumper along with a newly designed cooling bonnet!
We're going to have some awesome photos and videos coming up so stay tuned here, keep an eye on our Facebook page, and follow us on instagram at @bulletproofautomotive for some added content.
During our trip to Japan, we were fortunate enough to see some amazing new parts on some incredibly built cars. We spend a lot of time evaluating all of the high end parts we come across and think about how to best bring those amazing parts back here to the US. This allows us to provide you with some of the most highest quality and rare parts built by the most notorious JDM performance parts manufacturers known to man. Those manufacturers include, but are not limited to: Amuse, Varis, Phoenix Power, JUN, Mine's, Endless, Kansai Service, Do-Luck, Esprit, Voltex, and much more.
We're hoping in these next few weeks and even months to be sharing our experiences with you at 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon. We'll be posting up new content and photos of new parts so check back often as you're sure to see some awesome photos of some amazing JDM performance parts.

To start things off, we wanted to introduce the new Varis Version 2 items for the Evo X. Some of you have already seen the kit from pictures we've provided you; however, we felt it only right to pay homage to the Varis Evo X demo car at this year's 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon.
For those of you that don't know, Bulletproof Automotive has been a long time partner with Varis and this year they officially debuted their Varis Version 2 front bumper, rear bumper, and cooling bonnet. The side skirts remain the same as the Varis 09 version with the carbon under board but all together, the kit just amazing!
Volk ZE40's in Matte Blue were the choice set of wheels for their new Varis Evo X demo car. Ray's was an official sponsor of our own Bulletproof Automotive Concept One FR-S SEMA build seen here.
Here we have a great shot of the new Volk ZE40's on the Varis Evo X demo car. Evo X + Varis + Volk ZE40 = A match made in heaven!
As you can see, the newly designed front bumper is a bit more aggressive than the older model 09 Version bumper and Runduce Bumper with larg front openings to suck in that much needed air.
Here you can really see the amazing details in the newly designed Version 2 front lip to go along with the Version 2 front bumper! Varis is not one to disappoint when it comes to functional and incredible looking aero!
Varis also debuted their most advanced and best looking cooling bonnet (hood) for the Evo X dubbed the Varis Version 2 Ultimate Hood... How awesome is that name? The hood utilizes two main center vents and two additional side louvers to help cool the engine bay! The hood will be available in FRP, Carbon, and VSDC!
Here's a quick pic of the Varis Evo X roll in at Tokyo Auto Salon. You can see that it was a bit wet out there while we were in Japan
All in all, the unveiling of the new Varis Version 2 Evo X Demo car was a complete success. We love how this thing turned out and we hope you do too!

**More coverage on Tokyo Auto Salong 2014!!**
We had to share this next Evo purely on how crazy and amazing this build is. We'd like to introduce to you... the Varis Wide Body Kitted Garage G-Force Evo X
Many of you already know and are familiar with the Garage G-Force Evo X and have seen it in various posts, media publications, and photo's floating around the interweb. Well we thought it only right to post up our encounter with this one-of-a-kind Evo X build.
Let's start with the plain fact that it's rocking a beautiful Varis Wide Body D Kit and is rolling around on some new 18x11 Volk ZE40 wheels. An awesome combination might I add. In the rear you'll notice the large Varis GT wing sitting atop a Varis carbon trunk.
Now lets bring our attention to the insanity that resides under the Varis vented hood. Garage G-Force did something spectacular that you don't see very often if at all. The motor is still your standard 4B11... for the most part aside from your forged internals and standard supporting mods of course, but what makes this Evo X something really special is that it's TWIN-CHARGED!! That's right... let that sink in... Twin-Charged. Has a nice ring to it right? What does twin-charged mean exactly? Well it's when you run a turbo kit along with a supercharger system. For the turbo side of things, Garage G-Force is running an HKS GT3240 Turbine Kit. On the Supercharger side they are running an HKS GTS8550 Supercharger Kit. Both very large, very nice forced induction systems working in conjunction with each other. A Colt Speed carbon ram air intake system sucks in copious amounts of cool air into the motor while 1000cc injectors force feed fuel to all the necessary places while everything gets cooled by an HKS R-Type Intercooler. The kit produced roughly around 750 hp at 7500 RPM! Decent numbers for a 4 cylinder Evo X.
Being that this Evo was built for circuit and time attack racing, weight is obviously an area that needed to be addressed so once again Varis stepped in to offer their services. Varis provided a set of their VSDC (Varis Semi Dry Carbon) doors to help aid the weight reduction on this Evo. The rear doors are actually a full once piece carbon door with rear window delete. The use of carbon was definitely not lacking on this incredible project.
Well what can we say? We're in love with the Garage G-Force Evo X. It was definitely a sight to see and we're honored and happy to be there in person to be a part of it. We're excited to see what 2014 has in store for Garage G-Force and the Evo platform in general so stay tuned!

Here's another great example of JDM tuning done right! Take a look at what Phoenix Power brought to the table! Phoenix Power has been known to create monsters on the Touge using platforms such as the Z33 (350Z) and the infamous R34 Skyline GTR. Well now they've seen the potential of the Evo X and they're capitalizing on it. Take a look!

The show wouldn't be complete without seeing at least ONE RWB Porsche! Rauh-Welt Begriff brought their newly built RWB Rotana to Auto Salon. Bathed in a Nojima-Special Flat Purple, this special 993 is actually Nakai-San's first TURBO RWB 993 that he's built and owned! The outside is your standard RWB 993 wide body kit while the chassis rolls around on some custom Work Wheels in 18x12.5 -5 front and 18x14 rear with a -48 offset!! The motor was swapped in favor of a fully built 964 turbo motor with upgraded internals to accommodate for the high boost fed in by way of a mid-sized, rear mounted, Greddy turbo. Nakai-San truly wanted this to be his personal car that he could rip on at the track. The motor was built to withstand all types of abuse. Nakai-San plans to ship this car around the world to enter into track days and events. These aren't just your typical garage queens anymore!

You used to know them as HKS Kansai. Now known as Kansai Service, they bring you their rendition of the GTR.

18" Advan GT wheels with Project Mu brakes. This is going to be a killer combo!
BBS LM's. Definitely a look to be had on an Evo! I don't know about you guys, but I personally love the mesh style look on Evo's.
Rays' new Velvet Marine finish! It's absolutely amazing in person. We've ordered a couple sets so far and I love "checking" them in.
Advan TCIII is a nice remake of an original classic wheel.
Work came out with some new finishes this year. One of my favorite combo's right now are the matte bronze face with polished or anodized bronze barrel. A super popular look for Work Wheels right now. We just had a customer that did some Work M1R's with a matte bronze face and polished bronze lip. Such a sweet looking color combo! Feel free to check them out here. As for the other amazing color combos, check these photos out below. It's literally like looking at candy!
