I think it's because it's right hand drive (J spec?). That's crazy though!!!! . Anyone have any more details of this EVO?

I think it's because the Evo3 had a different engine orientation, kind of like how the 4g63 is reversed on the eclipse.. and that's an Evo7 engine which is oriented like ours. RHD/LHD has zero impact on the engine orientation, they have the same engines/transmissions as we do.. the firewall and steering hardware is different of course but nothing that drastic.

Bingo

The Evo 3 engines were on the right side of the car opposed to our engine on the left side of the engine bay

The only thing im wondering is this

With the engine turned around that the transmission would be too. But if its like that, the driveline would be facing out of the front of the car. Also you would think that there would be an issue with the engine turning the wrong way

I believe our engine turns clockwise if your looking at the cam gears

What way do engines in the DSM's turn?

if their engines turn clockwise while looking at their cam gears then i guess it might be possible for them to use an evo 3 transmission

But then there might be fitment issues

lol Whatever im confusing myself
