Will WRC return to its former glory in 2017?

Some exciting new technical rules including more power, lighter weight, and better aero http://www.wrc.com/en/wrc/news/july/...6--12-12-.html

New teams, including a Toyota team led by Tommi Mäkinen http://www.carscoops.com/2015/07/toy...en-filmed.html

I have to admit, it sounds promising.

Short answer: no

Long answer: probably not.

The new cars do look cool though. Rally, for all its awesomeness, just doesn't appeal to casual watchers, especially when the cars bear no resemblance to street cars anymore.

I wish WRC was televised more on US TV. I haven't been able to catch any events on tv in a long time

Too bad the WRC Yaris looks so bad. That Toyota engine will likely be legend though. Clean sheet racing engine ftw.

"The new Toyota Yaris WRC 2017 will be equipped with a turbo-charged 1.6-liter direct injection engine, which is capable of producing a maximum power of 300 HP @ 6,000 RPM and a torque of 310 pound-feet. It should be the beast itself and guarantee the exact amount of power delivered to the wheels of the compact car. This engine offers the car a smooth ride on gravel and tarmac surfaces. It accelerate from 0-60 mph for 3.7 seconds with top speed of 155 mph."
