Audi snob dealer sales guy

So I went to a honda dealer close to where I work to have airbag recalls made on my 2003 Honda Pilot. Obviously to pass the time, I walked over the Audi and Subaru which is part of this dealership. Went in and was greeted by a white dude Audi sales guy. I asked if they have the new Q7 and if they still make V8's? He said the Q7 never had V8s since 2006. I guess that question made him think I'm a noob. Then he asked what kind of car I currently drive? I said I have the new 2015 ESCALADE platinum and was just shopping around. I felt like his eyes rolled(LOL). He showed me a Q7 alright and noticed that it was small compared to my esky. He showed me the new dash and dual nav. Okay. So I asked if it comes with adaptive cruise which my ESCALADE have and he said not in this model. If it comes with a ceiling DVD or headrest DVDs which my platinum had. He said it doesn't come with as it has to be the prestige edition. So I asked if he had a prestige in stock he said no. Okay. No offer to drive it.

Oh well I'll try another dealer(in my mind). That's when I asked him if it had Quattro. That's when he said yes this model had Quattro-"the best 4WD system in the world!" That's when I interrupted him and said I'm a car guy as well and No it's not the best AWD system in the world. Then he asked what? What is the number one in the world? After a brief pause, I said it's the mitsubishi SAWC/AWD. That even rolled his eyes faster(LOL)! I went to pick up my Honda Pilot and will go my local dealer for that. Even my MB and Range Rover dealer where I bought my RRS and GLK350 wasn't this bad.

He just lost a sale. I knew the evo was better than the RS4!(when they compared the 4wd systems of the evo vs Audi vs Porsche. The evo was number one.

This. Seems like you baited the sales guy and got upset that he stood his ground.

Lol, I didn't bait it him at all. Not upset at all. I was looking at the competition of my SUV's and not really interested after seeing the Q7 third row. It almost looks like a 3 row Q5. FYI, not in the market for a Q7 at all. Not a fan of a X5 nor a cayenne. Maybe a Fpace, levante or even the bentayga.

Love the Jeep Rubicon. The thing actually gets up and moves for its weight.

Wasn't there a test a few years back where they compared the Mitsubishi AWD system to the Subaru AWD and the Subaru beat it in single wheel traction?

It seemed the that Mitsubishi was struggling in sending power to the single wheel with traction while the Subaru was able to inch it's way forward and gain momentum. They kinda tilted both cars between rocks

In the end, the absolute ability to pull a car forward with one wheel isn't exactly the most important thing in the world nor does it happen very often.

I think they compared the outlander and a subaru crossover. But what I'm saying about mitsubishi AWD is the torque vectoring of the evox SAWC vs the Audi Quattro.

love that video... to my knowledge Sh-awd is the best awd system to date.
The BMW x5 can also get up that 30% split mu grade from my personal experience.
Not sure about the new Q7.
I would like to see an Evo try that however

Keep in mind, to do certain things with AWD system, they must be tuned specifically. That's exactly why traction modes exist for sand or gravel, offroad etc.
Hardware + software is what makes it great, but you won't find Acura making rock crawler offroad mudding software anytime soon.

It seems like a lot of high-end dealerships like to act like this.
