2000 Audi s4, 'lifespan'?

A friend showed me a 2000 Audi s4 w/60k miles on it, offerred for sale @ $20k. Does anyone familiar with these cars know what 60k miles do to them? In other words is this kind of mileage a definite turn off? The interior/exterior are in good shape. New tires, new brakes. Automatic. Any other tips on this situation?

From what Ive heard, 2000 S4s had horrible reliability. Check out some Audi forums.

my dad is a head tech for audi, when i looked into getting a new s4 he said audi and bmw had taken a huge quality dive since 2000. I would avoid audi right now.

I'd at least get a manual tranny if you're going to take the risk!

A friend of mine had an Audi A4, he said he has only had if for a year and a half and has replaced the tires twice and the thing leaks oil.

I have an audi S4, stick 2001. had no problems what so ever. got it used 30000 miles. Runs like a monster. They are really easy to hook up. My S4 is faster than my EVO. I wont buy the auto though.

Better than the Lancer, for sure. Good call.

The trade-in appraiser guy at BMW asked me if my car was stick and I said no, and he asked what year, so I said 2002...then he got all excited and asked me how I enjoyed having "one of those crazy ehh-vow cars" and if I knew that they were selling used for like $24k. Then he came back with a dissapointed look on his face and said he'd give me $7200 for my OZ.
