just curious if you've ruled out an EVO? It's comparable in performance to the STI but can be had for a few grand cheaper these days......I've been in both cars though and you really can't make a bad decision cuz they're both great cars.

Love the blue, but I'd go with white.

Like I said, I just know too many people with evos that are having issues. I absolutely like the way the evo looks more so than the sti and I like the fact that you can get it with a sunroof. But I just don't feel like dealing with all the warrenty crap.

Oh yea and even though I'm probably gettin an sti and not the evo, I figure we're all brothers here I still think the evo looks much better than the sti and I really want a sunroof, but I have two friends with evos and I know another person with an evo and they are all having problems (warrenty, clutch). It just hits too close to home knowing that many people with problems. Plus I know a mechanic that works at the subbie dealership. Got nothing but respect for the evo though
To be honest with you, those problems are very rare in my personal experience. I dont beat on my EVO, but I drag race it on the street alot. There are at least 30 EVOs in Houston, I there is only one that I know of that have any kind of problem with the clutch, and that is due to his driving style. He knows it and he doesnt blame it on the car, but himself. As for everything else, I'm at 13K and no problem yet (touch wood). If you dont like to mod and dont mind staying stock for a while, I say go for the STI. Alot of people switch over from STI bc they like to the aftermarket support and the potential of the EVO. Modding is cool, but if it is problem free, or else it just suck *****. Good luck in getting your STI, then again, silver is too common of a color on any car, shoot for white bro. And as you noticed, white wins the poll on this thread.

where did you get that the spec C is coming out next year?

I love the black for some reason. I don't know, looking at the paint job up close it is sooo pretty. But I've not seen the white up close so I can't really say.

Since you're in New Jersey, don't forget to wait on 2005 that will have an immobilizer but also put on your list of mods: get aftermarket alarm or 2, lo-jack, .45, garage, 2 guys with plumbing pipes for 0-24 protection or otherwise you'll end up here:

I have to say, Black with Gold rims looks really good. I saw a clean one, and it was just gorgeous and very aggressive looking. The silver and blue STIs looked more unassuming next to it (if an STI can be called that), and it will bear and hide dirt much better (why do you think there are tons of silver and champagne colored cars out there...).

Black also hides some of the ugly design traits of the STI a little bit better, or at least does not emphasize them...

Could I get an immobilizer on an 04 later or do I have to wait on the 05? I really need a car soon.

Sorry bro but I think you can't. It's basically a coded key that works with the immobilizer unit somewhere in the car and to simplify if the codes don't match the car doesn't start.
So even if a thief copied a key, if he doesn't know your code (usually supplied with the user manual) he won't be able to start the car.
Of course there are workarounds to that too but mated with an aftermarket alarm it gets harder and longer to crack and most of them would give up.
I suggest you go to Nasioc, they have some good recommendations for alarms and such.

white and blue are the most common colors for the sti(I worked at a subaru dealership)...atleast here in austin

silver/gold is the best option IMHO
