Subaru is trying to copy MMC!

OK, I have been over here alot lately, so I though it should be known that Subaru has changed the transmission for MY03. The only thing is, they did it secretly! They are trying to cover it up, obviously to avoid a recall! Do they not realize what happened to MMC about what, 2 years ago?

They really screwed to pooch on this one. Here are some threads of interest on the topic:

It looks like I will be on my third shortly. It is a real piece of crap. I am very dissapointed in FHI!

Enjoy the threads,

Andy

Subaru scandal

Actually, Subaru was involved in a recall coverup scandal several years before was.
Since that fateful incident, Subaru has actually greatly improved in quality, but it looks like they may be reverting to their old ways..

here's a link to a news story mentioning the Subaru coverup in '97.

Mitsu is doing the same kinda thing with some of their parts....I was trying to order some front suspension pieces and they took 3 weeks to come in and on top of that the part #'s changed. Not sure why they are doing this....I guess just to confuse everyone....

Im sorry but this is the bigest load of cr** i have ever read.

the only difference between the 2002 and 2003 wrx tranny is a pressure regulated clutch dampiner.

NOTHING ELSE HAS BEEN CHANGED

and as for the synchros not working or grinding...
i drive about 10 different wrx's a day and none of them do any of the above.

About the financial cover-ups of Mitsubishi and Subaru, who cares as long as they recall/repair the cars. But then if they don't improve the quality because they do not get caught, then that's a different story.
