Here is some advice my brother has a modded WRX with a VF30 turbo setup. He has the stock clutch still. With 35000 miles on the car. The turbo setup took place 25000 miles ago. He has had no problems since. WRX all the way.

Doesn't the IS300 fall more in the EVO/STi price range? Or are you talking about used?

ive thought about the srt-4 but i just dont the idea of having a neon, i know its fast and all but im not much into dodge's or neons- dont like the body style. and the is300 is about the same price as an evo but i would be gettin a slightly used one, im lookin around the range of $15-18,000

The is300 has way more potential for power than the wrx. With a bolt on kit with my stock block my car dynoed 542 rwhp and 530 rwtq at 22psi. People dont realize that the is300 has the same platform as the n/a supra. Heres a dyno of what the car made with the turbo supra rods and pistons which fit right in the 2jzge block.

These numbers were made with an innovative gt66 turbo, hks 264 cams spearco fmic etc.... at 30psi. I have been running about 17psi (about 500rwhp) daily for a few years now without any problems except for ripping through clutches. Wrx's are solid cars but I think its a stretch to say that they outperform the is300, in stock form they do, but with simple bolt ons the is300 comes to life. I havent tracked the car at high boost but the best recorded time was 11.1 at 128 at 22psi at mir battle of the imports last november.

Heres a good example of what happened when a turbo awd eclipse lined up against me, this run was done at 14psi on pump gas.
Dont mean to sound cocky but it just seems that a lot of ppl take the is300 as a car that is simply for looks.

Yall, dont tell him to get an evo, he only said between 2 cars (is300 & wrx), and this is the 'other car' forums o his thread is ok, stupid ***. Anyways, far as potential goes is300 all the way, its the NA block of the supra, RWD and can haul *** with a turbo thrown on it. Its luxary and a nice vehicle. The wrx is a nice platform aswel. Comes turbo, and has alot of potential, not as much as the is300, but enough to make 400awhp. Its really a toss, if you have the money to turbo it, go is300, but if your looking for something good now, go wrx. There both really good cars.

IS300. toyota engines trannys are champs. wrx feels cheap and understeers way too much. dont let the turbo fool you. the IS300 has tremendous potential and better overall looks, especially the speedo/tacho setup. personally, i prefer modifying FR cars. rear wheel drive means dori dori!!
