Jaguar S-Type "R"

Alright. Went browsing through car dealerships last night with the GF, a small hobby every once in a while. Stopped by the Jaguar dealership since she likes the XK8's. What caught my eye though was an S-Type with a different grill, HUGE brakes peeking through big ol' wheels and I look at the sticker:

400 HP Supercharged Intercooled V8
Brembo 4 Piston Calipers
18" Wheels

MMM...very HOT car for 62k according to the sticker. Black exterior and all black interior. Beautiful. Amazing what huge brakes, wheels, and a mesh grill can make. Peeked at the FMIC and it was PUNY. With a bigger one mounted up front and maybe a tad more boost, the car would be even more of an animal. If I was old and crotchety, I think I found my car.

EDIT: Read up about it...it's got twin IC's interestingly enough, forged internals and oil injection for the guts of the machine. Oh baby...

Yeah I saw that car in an issue of Car and Driver looks awesome, and with 400hp you can't go wrong. But they said that the car doesn't like to be dragged. Something to do with the traction control system or something, not allowing the car to launch hard or rev up to redline in any gear or even to it's peak horsepower rpm. But still a nice car.

Drag? Who said anything about dragging!? With that kind of power, you don't need to flaunt it!

I'm not calling the the "R" a sports car by any means...maybe the term I'm looking for is "luxo-cruiser". Something to slap TV's into the rear head sets, one up front, a PS2 in the trunk somewhere and other choice little ICE mods. The rest of the car I would keep stock except for perhaps getting a big nasty FMIC and seeing if raising the boost is possible. As for the whole gas mileage thing, when you're able to afford the monthlies, the insurance and anything else associated with the car, gas is probably the last thing you're worrying about.

one enquiry.the xk8 has is an auto? OMG....wads with tht also....u spend a bomb on xk8 n u get auto....hmm..... *no offence to anione yea ? *

actually many people prefer the SL500 over the 600
coz once it becomes the 600 is less of a sports car...mad heavy engine yo
