or perhaps its simply the unBELIEVEably egotistical attitude of EVO owners. I am astonished, i have owned a car from just about every manufacturer and been doing import shows since before it was mainstream and popular and when the "biggest show in the west" was held in a Kmart parking lot. And i have NEVER come across more arrogant, egotistical people than Evo owners....pure and simple. and every post is either to degrade, insult, or otherwise immoralize another person.

this isnt about you, this is about the EVO culture. and not just this board, or SOCalEvo, but in person too. the only nice person I have met who didnt insult whatever they didnt like was Tom (Somgrunner) when i met him one day at AutoZone by accident.

 

You really feel that way? Actually my experience has been the opposite for some reason. Out of all the clubs I've been a part of, the EVO crowd has been the coolest. Yeah, I guess there's a little arrogance there, but you see more of that with the young guys, and that's gonna' be like that whatever they drive. I dunno, go talk to some of the vette owners or the porsche owners clubs...you want to see arrogance? hehe Besides, everyone is kinda entitled to say pretty much whatever they want about that car. I bet you get a lot less comments like that about your car, because yours is well done, and I know your'e pissed because you know that the guy put a lot of work into it and all. I dunno, maybe I just don't understand the scene at all.

I am this way, becuase i am defending him, this post was started as a flame war against this owner. and coming from someone who has done it, i know what kind of finacial strain and time and effort and personal blood and sweat he put into his car to make that car that way. and after he does it all, all everyone can do is insult him? if you dont like it fine, but why insult him even more by posting it all over the place. would i do the paint? no. whould i show that car? no. but respect the guy for what he did to his car and be cool about it. see what i mean? I like simple clean lines, i chose a color that is not liked by any evo owners and gets insulted at every oppurtunity, (look at the so cal cellar at the very top post to see what i mean) and i have to stay defensive becuase i "dont go with the evo flow" and quite possibly its from the young ones, but it still is unbelieveable that these owners cant respect or appreciate what someone does to their car besides race it. Yes not all evo owners race their evos. Mine barely gets driven period, and will NEVER see a track, so does that make my car that much less of an EVO? and is it that much more blasphemous that I am probably pushing more horespower than 50% of other evo owners with all the engine mods i have, and STIll wont race it?
