Exclamation Please Help Me You Guy's!!!

I am thinking of buying a 1999 excellent condition Eclispe with turbo. Its red and has a sunroof and all that. O and if your wondering why not a 2000+ its becuase I like the 1999 bodystyle better. So anyway schold I get the Eclispe and sell the Lancer.
Thanx

So...what do you need our help with and what does this have to do with Lancers in general?

EDIT: Ah, you edited. Your call. I hate 2g DSM's so I'd say no, but I think most people would say yes.

Does the lancer have as much potential. Also I wanna know what car people like more. I think the bodystyle is the main reason I want it.

The Lancer has great potential in my opinion...I love my Lancer and it's body style, I've done a lot of things to my Lancer and I'm still no where near done...it's a great car to have.(I think so anyway)

I'm selling my 2g. it is non turbo but is fully built and easy to add turbo kit to. If interested let me know. If not I would say the 2g would be a better bet if you are looking for speed.

I'm guessing you know very little about import cars. The 2g has more readily available parts at lower prices. ...as do just about any sporty cars that have been around longer than the Lancer.

The GS-T (assuming that's the type you were planning on buying) is NOT the same as the non-turbo RS and GS just so you know. The motors are completely different. The RS (and I believe the GS as well) run a version of the 420A (most frequently seen in the Neon) whereas the GS-T and GSX use a variant of the 4g63 from the 1g DSM's and Evolutions.

Eclipse to Lancer... Lancer to Eclipse

Last Oct. I went the other way. I sold my gen2 Eclipse and bought a 04 Lancer O-Z. Be warned, you are going from a 4-door car to a 2-door. Insurance is higher on an Eclipse even if it is older. If you ever carry more than two people (Driver and 1 Passenger) you want to stay clear of an Eclipse. The back seat is good for nothing more than a place to lay your coat. If you are wanting to mod the Eclipse there are more than enough companies that sell aftermaket parts. Although from my experiance, a lot of them make cheap parts that don't always fit right. There are pros and cons to both cars. In my opinion, stick with the Lancer and have fun modding it for the next few years. Save up the extra money and buy the 2005-6 Eclipse if you still want one. By then you may have another car that you would rather have.
Just my 3¢ (2¢ plus tip!)
L8R, Shado
