well if all you cared about was the track.... maybe but 40k is a lot to spend on something you can't use for a daily driver... If you want something fast for the track without caring about looks luxury or convenience just drop a caddy engine in a used Fierro and for 10 grand total you can be running high 9's look like S**T but hey if its only for the track why not...
(I have a friend who did the northstar engine in an old fierro he runs 9.8 and has just under 10k in the car)
