but,
i think the evo and sti are too close, and the s2k i think is soundly better than the r32.......
YEah that'd be my ranking as well. Go for the evo.Originally Posted by hueman

Go for the EVO if you want the best performance all-around. The R32 is nice and refined, but VW service is not great and their cars required a lot of visit to the dealership. Also, the new Golf and GTI are due soon. If you are on budget, the Cooper S is also a good car (fully loaded would be close to $30K). Great fun car, and you get a BMW service.

Looks and performance, Evo ,new or S2000, used. I'd say STi, but a little more expensive. Then again the regular WRX is a great buy anyway you look at it. The R32 is great too, but I'd be leary about putting anytype of forcrd induction on a car that didn't have it in the first place. At least with a stock turbo vehicle it is already there, just have to tweak it.

The eliminates all these, maybe the RSX aside. The Evo lacks cruise control, and all of them have pretty harsh suspensions. The Mini and S2000 both have a short wheelbase which gives you pretty severe head toss on SoCal's lovely interstates. I haven't driven an R32 but I'm guessing it'll suffer a similar fate. The Evo is a blast but it's not a car I'd want to drive 4.5 hour stints in with any regularity if autoX/Track duty isn't a factor. The S2000 has the convertible factor going for it.
