PRELUDE, the motor is WAY WAY WAY better then the Raliart.

More Power, by 40HP, and it has a LSD of some sort to make it handle better, when accelerating through a turn. Called the Active Torque Transfer System, it automatically distributed more of the engine's power to outside front wheels when accelerating in a turn. That forced the outside front wheel to rotate up to 15 percent faster than the inside front wheel. The system could direct up to 80 percent of engine torque to a single wheel. Dual airbags and four-wheel disc brakes were standard on both models, incorporating antilocking. Each model rode 16-inch tires. , is it the Type SH?

You can make WAY more power with a VTEC DOHC then the MIVEC SOHC, Prelude i wouldn't even have to think.

I would get the ralliart, it has dual air bags, four wheel disc, ABS, and 16inch rims too, it's much lighter than the prelude and only time will tell which motor is WAY WAY WAY better

Plus, you dont want a prelude somebody has been beating on for the last 3 yrs when you can have a new car and do the beating.

you lookin for a fun sporty car or a more convenient one?

prelude would own the RA in a race but if you want room for 4 and a safer car go for the RA

don't trust used cars...prelude is a fast car, so obviously the previous owner will beat it to the extreme...stick with a new car...the ralliart isn't that slow anyways...

Prelude is a superior car, the motor is King, DOHC VTEC Vs. SOHC, its just a better platform although not as good as in terms of space and trunk room, but in terms of power and a sports car, the Prelude owns.

I just beat an 01 prelude at the drag track on friday night so I dont think it's accurate to say the prelude would own an RA

GREAT QUESTION!!!!

The Prelude Motor uses DOHC, not SOHC, which allows far better breathing and topend ability noto to mention tunability. Then You have the VTEC which helps this engine make 40 MORE HP in a smaller motor, and if you were to run the Prelude and the Rallyart from a roll, the Prelude would pull it.

Turbo a Prelude? Wow they can make 300WHP on stock internals on like 7PSI, they love turbos, but the DOHC Vs. SOHC Head alone is reason enough, to make power outa a 4 cylinder, you need all the Breathing you need.

I fyou have Money for a Rallyart, I would get the NEON SRT-4, its such a bargin

The prelude was a $26k+ car when new.... the ralliart is a $17k (i am guessing) car........ i would assume the 01 prelude is cheaper now than you would be paying for the ralliart.?

My personal preference is to get a better quality used car than a lower quality new car...... maybe get an extended warranty for the prelude if you plan to keep it relatively stock.? I have owned roughly 15 different honda's with almost no problems at all..... my 1985 accord broke the auto tranny at 100k miles... besides that i think an ignitor went in a civic one time.... no other real problems...

(my current evo has nearly no problems as well).

POCO RA - you have a bunch of modifications to your car....was the prelude stock? maybe the driver sucked? what were your times? Too many variables to say a RA Lancer can beat (or not beat) a Prelude when one is modified, etc....

i owned a 97 prelude (same model), and i can tell you first hand. the prelude is an awesome car all around. not a four door, but if you can live w/o it, get it. those cars are so stable and quiet it's unreal. very unlike most hondas. try to find an SH if possible.
