2005 audi b6 s4 or 2006 b7 s4

which year do you think i should buy. the new model (2006) comes with a new face and new taillights with minor advancements, but the 2005 s4 is much better looking.

For that price range I would be hookin up a Z06 on the track baby hard to beat mid 12's for stock with lateral acceleration of 1.01 G on the skidpad

How big a skidpad? Even the MR is only managing 0.92-0.94 sustained load on a 200-ft pad.

Granted, it managed 1.11 peak loads on a 200-ft slalom, which is pretty slick.

The B7 is the exact same car as the B6, just has that disturbingly new front and rear fascia on it.

Right but, they have tried to iron out kinks in the b6 and you benefit in the b7. Although it's not advertised.

The B6 platform was beautiful. Another example of stupid car designers.

i know. german designers are not that good right now. the b6 is beautiful while the updated S4 is not. actually the new S4 is not the B7 since it is the same chasis and frame. The engine is identical so why would the kinks be removed? I sat in one on Saturday and i just loved it, although very crampted in the rear seat. I don't remember the evo being so crapt when i looked at that.

It actually is classified as the B7. Go check out the new A4 forums on AW...they've been battling that fact back and forth for a while. Audi internally calls it the B7.

Ducati, the car does have some updates, but they are not superficial. Some tightening of the suspension was done here and there. Also, the engine were swallowing intake valves that were breaking off at the shaft. Cause was traced to a bad batch of valves. Not sure about the clutch/tranny issues as I don't really keep up w/ the 4.2.

Yeah, my dad owns a '04 silver 1.8T A4 avant w/ the ultrasport package (RS4 wheels, sport suspension, sportier front and rear bumpers, and sideskirts). The car is drop dead gorgeous. I think it turns more heads than my Evo! All the car needs is a K04 turbo upgrade.

I would stick with the current design...much cleaner looking than the '06 model. BTW, I also hate the redesign TT with that "corporate" front look....boohoo.

However, if I have that kind of money for an S4, I would get a 00-02 S4 Avant (wagon) and do a RS4 coversion....that would be sweet.
