It would be nice if they would mentioned something about the AWD version (even without the active drivetrain)

The more of the manufacturers get into the game, more benefits for all of us!! I loved that article from the Subaru guys about the countering anything that does with the EVO!!! And also the part about moving the war between them to the States as well!!

I read in one of the magazines that Ford is planning a 225hp 2.4l turbocharged Mazda engine for the '04 Focus. This will be the same engine used on the Protege.

Also, the magazine also reported that the Focus will get a new shell in '05.

It's just a side mount intercooler force fed through some plastic housing. Clean setup. Wicked car to. Curious if it has the variable intake manifold technology like the SVT Focus (another good Ford'mobile).

The svt will most likely be supercharged next year. A turbocharger is unlikely. But f/i is almost guaranteed. There are also rumors that awd drive will be offered when the focus gets a makeover in 2004.

My guess would be that we are looking at an air to water intercooler. The intercooler can be smaller as water can absorb more heat than air.

Yes, it indeed is an air-to-water intercooler.

I heard that they are already testing the SVT and it will be turbocharged to compete with the SRT-4

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression all ford SVT's were supercharged, not turbocharged. The SVT has been around too, from what I've been told, but not in the states.
