Off Topic: 1992 Acura Integra Won't Crank

i know this is an Evo forum, but maybe you guys can still help me fix my girlfriends car. she has a 1992 Acura Integra LS 1.8L. a couple days ago her car stopped cranking. i turn the key to the on position and the lights on the dash light up, the radio turns on (i recently put my subs/amp/speakers in her car), and her headlights work, but when i try to start the car it doesnt crank or anything. she had this problem 2 weeks ago and i thought my system might've killed her battery so after replacing it with a new one the car started fine. then it happened again a couple days ago so i charged her battery and it still didnt wanna crank. i thought it was the starter so i just replaced it a couple hours ago and it still doesnt wanna crank. i checked all her fuses and they look fine. i havent tested the starter lead wire yet, but that's next on my list after i finish this tuna sandwich. anyone have any other ideas?

Alternator.

wouldn't the car still be able to be jumped even if the alternator was bad?

I had this problem in one of my old cars when I had subs, don't have them in the Evo.

This was a while back, but I'm pretty sure after we put in a new alternator that fixed the problem.

Could be a bad battery as well even if it's new; might want to have it checked.

yeah i was actually gonna go to autozone to check the old starter and the battery as well. maybe the alternator got messed up after i put the subs in the car.

You've got your 3 potential suspects there. The alternator, battery, or starter. I guessing you could probably count out the starter though since you just put a system in the car it probably fried the old alternator or battery.

so the starter and the battery turned out to be fine. im gonna get the alternator checked right now. hopefully this is the problem.

Not if you have a dead battery.

kinda had the same prob with my girls car, and I replaced the plugs and wires, worked for a while then did it again. Got a batt. and it worked for a while, then it happened again.

turned out to be a bad ground, check all your grounds could save you alot of time and money.

+1. I had my subs in my grand am (many years ago, I was in high school ) and it fried the alternator within a day or two after having the subs put in
