Description:

Hey gang, first time poster, long time creeper. Thought my little Evo might be of interest to this audience as it's getting harder to find well kept, low mileage examples. Such a fun car, will miss it terribly but we move on..

GSR trim: 5 Speed, halogens headlights, steel roof, no sunroof, alumimum hood and fenders.

Just turned 50k miles.
Clean title in hand.
100's of addt'l photos and several videos of track days on request.
Vin listed not actual - dm me for vin
Passed CA smog in October, since expired, will resmog once a buyer is found.
$29k with stock wheels and good 245 Direzzas. 2 other sets of wheels / tires can be negotiated.

The car is in exceptional condition, never cut or poorly modified. Only ever used new parts that were professionally installed by Evo or motorsports specialists. The few minor upgrades it has are reversible, ALL original parts on hand. Engine never opened. No stories, needs nothing, I've got an excel sheet and receipts for over $18k in upgrades and preventative maintenance. If you're looking for an excellent driver or collector quality Evo, this is worth a look. Also, never add your receipts.

- 3 owners. I'm mid 40's, bought the car from a very good friend in his 50's at 28k. He bought it at Carmax with ~6k.
- I set it up with minimal upgrades to sharpen the car slightly and not negatively impact reliability or usability.
- Does not look / act / feel / smell "modified". Feels like a stock Evo polished and turned up to 11.
- It's done ~5 track days on my watch, instructor lever driver, driven 8/10ths and maintained excessively.
- Selling due to lack of use, I'm looking to move to an n/a, rwd platform (interesting trades considered, +/- cash).
- Maintenance is up to date, needs nothing. Recent timing belt, rebuilt master cylinder, fresh oil change with Motul full synth, oem filter and recently detailed / paint corrected. All consumables are recent / fresh.
- Will send excel maintenance file to interested parties.

Upgrades:
I have carefully / thoughtfully upgraded it to make it a great all around driver / street / track / weekend car. When i got the car it was baselined (made correct stock HP) - fluids, filters, plugs, leak / compression, injectors cleaned and balanced, etc and tuned by Works (Evo Specialist) in Sonoma. Engine changes consist of a Works washable air filter, Works ported throttle body, Works ecu tune and Works downpipe. The exhaust is a Milspec High flow cat (no cel), Apexi Noir catback (a little more growl than stock, no drone). Made ~280 wheel hp on Works' Dynapack dyno. Conservative tune to be as smooth as possible, not generate excessive heat or break parts. Runs / drives / feels better than stock, much nicer throttle response and much more punch. I have installed an aftermarket engine torque damper to minimize drivetrain lash and preserve the oem mounts without the added NVH of poly motor / trans mounts (works great).

Suspension is Ohlins Road and Track Coilovers with the Ohlins adjustable top mount camber plate (exceptional quality) from PSI in Sonoma. Whiteline roll correction and bump steer kit give the car a much more planted and stable feeling, especially at speed and under braking. Whiteline adjustable sway bar end links allow corner balancing. Recent alignment / corner balance, aggressive street setup, doesn't prematurely wear tires. Suspension doesn't make any noises, squeaks, clunks, etc. Rear diff plates were restacked to JDM spec. No noises, binding, etc.

Brakes have braided ss lines with vinyl sheathing, Performance Friction front pads are recent and excellent - no noise, low dust, excellent bite/feel. Works orange rear pads (are a little noisy). Recent cryo Centric front rotors, fresh flush with Redline RBF600. All 4 calipers have been rebuilt with Girodisc high temp seals and Racing Brake stainless pistons and use titanium pad shims. Have several sets of street / track pads that can be included. Also have a set of Girodisc 2 piece rotors that can be negotiated.

Interior has a DMC harness bar with camera mount, Schroth 4 point harnesses, Binary Engineering seat lowering bracket on driver's seat (stock seat sits very high). Kenwood radio for BT, Ipod, etc in an OEM low mount pocket. Upper din mount has Autometer Nexus gauges in a 42DD gauge panel. Boost is operable but has an intermittent issue. Oil temp + oil pressure gauges installed but senders have not been installed but will be included. Works weighted shift knob. Everything works as expected, and is in excellent condition. All interior / trunk lights replaced w LED. Works trunk mat. OEM trunk cargo net. Spare, jack and toolkit all present.

Exterior is excellent - all vin tags present. No paintwork to my knowledge. Only changes: absurdly expensive mudflaps from WRC supplier (nothing cut / drilled). Custom built 1.25" trailer hitch mount under the rear bumper is removable, nothing cut. Only weighs ~10lbs and ties the rear subframe legs together. Has only been used for a lightweight aluminum (1Up-USA) bike rack and light carbon bikes. Tow hook attachment included - great track day tow spot. Works skidplate to protect the engine / gearbox. Does not need to be removed for oil change, retains oem front undertray. Tinted tail lights / side marker lights were done by 1st owner. Seems to be very good quality, finish holding up very well. Rear window is very good quality aftermarket tint (again done by PO), rear side windows are oem tint. Yes i have the ariel, it's removed since it lives under a cover.

Issues - All documented in photos
- The only mishap on my watch was an incident whereby i was caught on some road work in SF - the surface was graded and before I could turn off, a manhole cover sitting a few inches proud of the road surface clipped the stock subframe brace, damaging the mounts. The subframe was replaced with a good used one and the stock 3pt bracing was replaced with the 4pt Works skidplate. The forward captive nut is still damaged (crossmember is not), I have not replaced it as the skid plate doesn't use that nut. In short it's 100% functional.
- Minor chips / paint wear commensurate with age/ mileage.
- Brake calipers are faded, clear coat is mostly gone.
- Front bumper is drilled for a plate (by the ****ing dealer) and shows some wear.
- The car has an open recall for airbag replacement.
- Headlights have been polished but still show aging.
So yea, it's a used car. Looks great, almost show worthy but want to be 100% transparent.

All / every stock part will be included (exhaust can be discussed as it's too big to go in the car). If a buyer prefers anything returned to stock configuration that can be negotiated.

Interested parties can contact me via email - thejimrose at gmail, to set up time to discuss the car and see / drive it. Test drives and PPI / mechanic inspections welcome. Happy to facilitate shipping - btdt a few times.

$29k with stock wheels and good 245 Direzzas. Have 2 other sets i can make available: Black Enkei PF01 wheels with Pilot Sport AS3's w/ a few K miles. Dark silver Enkei NT03 with 255 Toyo RA1 with a few track days left.

Thanks!
Jim

Hey - thanks for the interest. Replied. Car has no 'issues' - from a drivability perspective it is 100% - needs nothing to daily, track, etc. All maintenance is up to date, the timing belt was done preemptively, all fluids and consumables are fresh, even the cabin air filter is recent. There are cosmetic flaws, all outlined in the ad. The only functional 'issue' is the aftermarket gauges need to be improved / finished. But that's Autometer's ****ty quality issue, nothing to do with Mitsu. =)
