You just gotta be patient enough to find an Evo fan with $15k in their pocket and willingness to finance the rest.
I've seen stranger things happen! Hang in there. Bump.

Well, I wouldn't say nobody . I'm sure there are a few mid-life crises folks out there that feel the same way about the car as we do. The problem is that the average demographic looking for a CT9A doesn't usually have 30k cash in the bank. Not implying that the car is unclassy in any way. I'm one of the guys that wholeheartedly disagree's with the stigma that the evo is a teenager car.

There are some for sale ads that I have seen which have excuses like, "I'm getting older now now and need to look for something else more comfortable." Or, "Selling because I need to buy a house and having kids," "Financial changes have taken me by surprise," etc. Those are all respectable and valid excuses. Then there is the ignorant a$$hole who says something like, " It's time to grow up and move on from the evo scene." To which I would say, F that guy and the person who told him to do that.

Meanwhile i'm thinking to myself, do people honestly believe highly intelligent R&D Engineers who make over 6 figures a year designed and built this car strictly as a joke?

Exactly what I'm saying, yep. You gotta find a very specific fan/buyer.
I love my car and $30k is what it would take to give it up. I can't say I'd be willing to spend that much on another, though. I'd probably do a different route.
But, I know there are those willing, so who knows? Especially if the car doesn't need to be sold in a hurry.
A friend of mine had a really nice Miata he was asking big $$$$ for. It took 18mos, but it sold! It happens.

Yup, I believe it. Especially if the buyer is one those guys who is more interested in obtaining a good example of the vehicle that they are looking for than constantly tire kicking and destroying opportunities for themselves. Getting rock bottom prices for everything is not always what it's about. I really wish I held onto my 240sx After I got my hands on it, I made it so dang clean.
