For anyone looking for an idea to ship OE exhaust: You can cut the mid pipe into much more manageable pieces, pack, ship, and easily re-weld.
Use a permanent marker to make some index marks (running parallel with the pipe). 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock. Works best to degrease and clean this section prior, obviously. Make your marks as straight as possible, like 3" in length should do it.
Use a recip saw or chop saw and cut in the middle of your lines, and perpendicular to them.
New owner simply matches the lines back up, tack, and weld.
