Description:
For sale is my 2006 Evo IX RS with ~81k miles. I picked this car up last year to serve as a weekend fun car and maybe go to an HPDE event or two this year. It's my fourth Evo (I've had an 8, a IX, and a X prior to the RS) so I'm very familiar with the platform. I was drawn to this car based on how well it was setup, the rarity of the RS, and the prior history of the car. I am the third owner of the car. The original owner of the car owned it for ~60-61k miles. The second owner is an Acura master tech who used the car as a weekend car and for some HPDE. He sold the car to me because he races bikes and was spending much more time racing the bikes.
I'm certain that I will regret selling this car, but I'm selling for family reasons. I bought the car right after my second child was born and the plan was for my wife to continue working. We're now planning on trying to make it work with her staying home with the kids so I'm selling the fun car to free up some funds. No other reason for selling. I love the car and it puts a smile on my face every time I get it out, but it just doesn't make sense to have this extra car that never gets driven when we can put that money to use elsewhere.
The car is in excellent mechanical condition. I drove the car 500+ miles driving it home when I bought it, and I have no concerns that someone could pick it up today and take it on another 500-mile road trip without issues. I recently had the tune updated and the car made 446/384 on the Mustang dyno at Force Fed Performance in Fayetteville. All maintenance is up to date (timing belt, water pump, tensioners, belts, pulleys, etc were all replaced at ~65k miles by the prior owner). The exterior is in very good condition, but it's not a show car. The prior owner used it for several track events which resulted in some typical rock chips on the front bumper and hood. That being said, the exterior is still in very good condition especially given its age. I am just very particular about my cars. The interior is flawless.
The mod list is quite extensive, and I've broken the list out below by mods I've done since I had the car and mods that were done by the prior owner. There are a lot of high-end parts on the car (~$3k Voltex wing, ~$5-6k Moton suspension, FP Black turbo setup, etc). Please read the full list below and let me know if there are any questions. Mods added during my ownership:
- ARP head studs
- BC springs/retainers
- New gaskets (head gasket, intake manifold gasket, thermostat housing gasket, exhaust manifold gasket)
- EGR delete
- Replaced Invidia TP with new STM resonated "quiet" TP (just to quiet it down a bit)
- Re-tuned by Slowpoke Tuning at Force Fed Performance (446/384 Mustang dyno)
- Replaced IAC valve with brand new Mitsubishi OEM IAC valve
- Replaced small battery with new small battery from STM (kept on a tender)
- Enforced Aero front splitter and new IX SE lip - You'll see in the pictures that the car now has two lip setups, a street setup and a track setup. The track setup has a larger front splitter that is chassis mounted underneath. It's functional and looks fine, but I was afraid of it getting destroyed on the streets so I picked up a second lip/splitter for non-track use.
