Description:

Good Mitsubishi evo 8 bare block with girdle. Had around 80k miles on it. Have had this sitting around as a spare "just in case", but I'm getting out of the game for now and I'll probably regret it sooner than later. Buyer responsible for shipping and PayPal fees.

Evo 8 blocks have VIN etched on it. Yours look like an evo 9 with VIN sticker broken off (3rd picture). And your last picture looks like it has the mivec oil port.

Here is my evo 9 block. Your block looks like it has this VIN tage ripped off. Good luck with sale.

To verify just see what side hole is on the backside of the block for the oil pressure switch. If the hole is small and tapered it’s an 8 block. If the hole is larger 12mm then it’s a 9 block. You can still used a 9 block in an 8 but would need to move the oil pressure switch down to the oil filter housing and block off the mivec hole.

Yes like I said, it’s an evo 8 block. I wasn't gonna continue to argue with someone trying to define a block by how the vin is marked. It has the tapered hole for the oil pressure sending unit, not a 12mm hole for the mivec banjo bolt. This can out of one of my evo 8s. It’s a fact, not a debate. And yes the bore is 85mm. Sale is pending, someone is planning to pickup Saturday.
