Description:
Selling a set of Ohlins DFVs for Evo 789. I bought them to adapt to my Evo 1, but I'm going to find a simpler solution which doesn't require adapters. They are used and quite clean, but one of the struts does show indication of sweating/leaking (pictured). The springs are 9k/7k. Shipping from Canada by post. Asking $1400 USD shipped in North America by PayPal.

Hi,
I would like to have these but it may be more cost effective to buy new.
The leak means rebuild, Olins USA says $850.
Road &Track DFV Kits
Kits containing 4 dampers $750+ Kits containing 2 struts and 2 dampers $850+ Kits containing 4 struts $950+
The spring rates appears to be wrong so $850 + cost of 4 springs.
MAP performance has the same kit for $2,375 and free shipping.
I don't mean to be insulting but unless you are willing to let them go real cheap. I would be saving nothing buying used and getting them re-sprung and re-bult.
Thoughts?

Hi Alan, that's with the assumption that all four dampers need a full rebuild to be used, which I believe is unlikely. I haven't inquired yet if a re-seal can be done on the leaking damper at a lower cost than a full rebuild/revalve, or had dyno testing to show if the other three need any work, since shipping is $100 each way to PSI and the $200 or so in border fees on a rebuild. For someone in the US, it makes more sense to do either the single damper or both fronts and run them. Thanks to our shipping rates and border fees, it made more sense to buy the Evo 456 dampers than to refresh these fronts, but the balance is tilted if I give these away.
