Hey guys,

I just moved to NoVA, Mclean and I am trying to find a nice track and QM track as well close to me. I dont care if it is in MD or VA. I have found one 60 miles away called summit Point raceway, what do you guys think? any QM track around here?

 

Mechanicsville MD. North on route 270 past Fredrick towards the PA line.

There's a 1/4 in MD called 75-80 http://www.7580dragway.com/ and also MIR http://www.mirdrag.com/ southeast of here across the bay, and there's an 8th in Manassass http://www.olddominionspeedway.com/ . Whenever you're going to go, PM me and I'll go with you. I've been waiting to get out to the 1/4 for a while, but I don't want to go by myself...

 

BTW, I haven't been out to Summit Point yet (I've been invited by a 993 and an STi friend and an M3 I had fun with on rt. 15), but that's a very popular track, and apparently really good. A lot of DCEvo guys go there...

But I believe it is a QM.

 

The other 1/4mile track near Frederick, is Mason Dixon Dragway. I haven't been there personally, but from everything I hear, it's a faster track then 75/80.

Summit Point is a good road race track, SCCA and NASA have events throughout the year. They also have FATT's or Friday at the track.

The track in Mechanicsville, MD is MIR. I haven't been there in about 3 years, but I hear it is top notch now.

For anyone interested, 75/80 is scheduled to have their Import/domestic sport compact drags and carshow this Saturday(Oct 16th). There will be atleast 2 evos there running.

Also guys, check out dcevoclub.com A member is planning on renting the 1/4 track at MIR in late November for the day (not set yet).

there is always something going on at MIR almost every weekend... either bmw, audi or porsche days... or some other car clubs...

I am planning to go there probably after the big Mach V meet weekend...

World Cup is a huge event. I recommend you guys get there early. The lines to get in have been backed up to the main road. I've had friends wait in line for 2 hours for this event.

It is on 10/23 and 10/30 at Mach V motorsports near Dulles airport.
