hey guys, do you know where I can get some stock enkei's repaired from all the scuff marks and powder coated?? I just purchased some used enkeis for cheap from some dude but 2 of them are really scuffed up. If you know a place or know of somebody that does good work let me know. I have about 200-300 to spend right now on getting this done. Thanks

I had my front Calipers replaced along with my faded wing by First Team Mitsu a little while back. Unfortunately, First Team no longer sells mitsu. I would try Hall Mitsubishi on Holland Road.

Hello,

I got an GG IX MR from Hall about a month ago. The car had about 14k on it. It has a 4th gear synchro bad and Hall is telling me it's not covered because the previous owner put a "stage 3" clutch in it. Those are their words. I'm underway at the moment so I can't see it for myself. It sure as heck doesn't drive like there's any kind of clutch in it (I'm not saying they're lying or anything).

Anyways, I was curious if maybe anyone knew who owned it prior to me and what kind of mods were done to it. It has really dark tinted windows and a pretty decent scratch down the driver's side rear door if that helps anyone. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Howdy everyone! Don't post much here and I am curious if there are any regular EVO hangout spots. I mostly AutoX, Road race (VIR!), and the occasional drag.
Looking to see people this weekend if there is anything going on.

Biggie, there is a nice gentleman named John a bit west of here that does a great rebuild :-). I have the same EVO and have had no issues with getting coverage. I stay away from Hall like the plague however... I highly recommend you check out another dealer. All my work is done up in NE, so I can't really help you out there.

First Team was bought out by Little Joe's btw and they will honor the warranty. You could try there first.

biggie5252, I actualy test drove that EXACT car at Hall mitsubish before I had them ship in a new IX Se from northern VA! The car defintly has a different clutch in it I promise. I dont know wich one though? They offered to call the previous owner and ask him though. Even offered to get me full recipits for the clutch/professinal install.

That being said, the tranny felt realy bad too. They offered me a sweet deal on it, but I personaly would never buy a car that someone else moded. (not saying its a bad thing, just MY personal pref.) They did however say that the tranny would be coverd under warrnty, just not the clutch. I know because I asked since I knew about the evo's clutch/tranny problems in advance.

The other thing they told me was that it was a young kid that bought it "cash" I belive! And he traded it in for a Vette I want to say? I dont remember what car for sure? The rear end banged around ALOT more than my new evos too. (couldve been the clutch though?) I got the overall feeling from driving it, and talking to them that It had been driven pretty hard!

Best of luck with the dealer, they seem to be pretty helpful so far, but I havent had to take it in for anything yet! (Fingers crossed!) If you want to know anything else about the car ill do my best, but I only drove it for 15 min or so, and only because it was easier than getting the new one out of the show room. I never had any intentions of actualy buying that one, so I didnt get into the realy small details looking it over. Hope this helps. PM me your # if you would rather just talk over the phone.

EVO parts

Hey guys, I've got some EVO parts that I took off of mine when I traded it in. I'm trying to get rid of them cheap if you know anyone in the Norfolk, VA Beach, Chesapeake area.
Parts I have are:
New brake pads front/rear $50
Ebay intercooler (used for a month) $50
Turbo back exhaust (full 3 inch, Megan Down pipe, will delete cat) $250
AEM intake, Blue $50

Just need it gone. You can call me at:

I've also got it posted with pic's on VADriven:

Deezee,

Thank you very much for all the info. I'm out to sea right now, but I will be back around the end of next week and will pm you my number. They told me before I bought the car that it was stock and had a full warranty, so if they new it had a clutch in it before they bought it I'm going to have their ***. Somehow anyways. I haven't noticed any banging around in the rearend, I've heard a couple random noises, but nothing that sounded like banging or that there was anything wrong. I just figured that it was one of those "evo noises" I keep hearing about. I kinda felt the same about the tranny though, but didn't know cuz I've never driven one before. I admit that I bought the car on a whim without shopping around. I'm not necessarily new to the car (I've been reading this forum pretty steadily for the last 3 years). I'm not too worried about it being driven hard because I plan on modding pretty heavily in the future, but it is nice to know the history of the car. I appreciate it alot.

Just saw your pm. thanks.

Hall Mitsu should've told you that the car has aftermarket parts on it before selling you the car. Obviously they knew about the clutch and did not tell you. You might have a pretty good case here. Hall mitsu sucks *** anyway. Take it someplace else.

No problem man. They definatly knew about the clutch. They knew I was into modding cars, and I think they though I would like it better if I knew about it? This was about 2 months ago or so? Talk to the heavy set manager at the front desk, he was the one who gave me all the info on the car.

Who was your sales rep you bought the car from? You do know that "Bruce" is an active duty CPO right? He just made board so he might still be a PO1? He knew about it that cars clutch, and since hes navy as well, he might be able/willing to help?

Yea, I wouldnt worry about the rear end TOO much. The main reason I wanted to drive a used evo when I bought my new one was because it was past the break in, and I wanted to REALY drive one. That was when I noticed the Banging in the rear end! It felt fine untill you realy pushed it.

Now that mine is past the break in, and I can push it, I have gotten the same bang 1 time. But it was nowhere near a loud/violent as when it happend to me in yours. I think the stiffer clutch in yours played a big part in that though. On the pluss side, the clutch felt great! Much better than the new evos! I like a heavy clutch pedal though.

If all else fails and you cant get the tranny warrentyed, you can alwasy get shepp or buschur to rebuild you one for around $800. Ill probably do that anyway, even if I dont have problems! Hit me up when you get back man, we can hang out or something. What ship are you on? Im in the navy myself. Hope this info helps man.

I know a guy local that got his tranny done by shepp, you should check it out when you get back! Later man.

Well fortunately i have not had any issues with my car, i had a couple of little thing done at Hall mitsu and i could tell that they are dicks. I just got here a few months ago and i have'nt really looked around for other mitsu dealership so i really dont know but i'm sure there are other ones out here that is much better than Hall.

Hmmmm...Where could you go? I have been to Joe's and they do fairly good work, but you have to be very specific with what you want/need.

Although for regular maintence and any modification I would either do it myself or have it done by KTR (too far away for most folk.)
