Dang, I'm gone from here for a few days and it turns into high school again........does anyone need a hug to make it all better, haha. When is the icecream thing goin on? Don't feel like scrolling back on my phone, it's late and I wanna hit the sack : D.
as an outsider. looking in on the situation.
i knew emery was in town and also knew he had mentioned about a possible shop. it was all over facebook.
shop loyalty is normal, if i worked for spec-ops or had my **** tuned by them and it was great i'd send people and say i don't know about them stm guys. **** happens. but what makes it bad is it normally gets twisted and re worded when the story is told again.
the way i see it who cares who has a shop here and who doesn't people will go to who they want to anyways.
i've never met the spec-ops guys formally but i was at sage one night working late on an evo9 i am assuming that is italtian jobs car. because gary called me at 11 and said hey we cant get this thing running, i know you are a mitsubishi tech could you come take a look. i thought it was the timing because of the way it was acting. then i was stumped to find it was timed correct. then spec-ops showed up torn some things down found a cam sensor loose. fired right up. i was like wow these guys really know there stuff. so i always mentioned there name to people. relatively local and impressed me with the knowledge of the car.
i've only met mikey once and he made a comment about my ****ty car, but then introduced himself and seemed cool. but after hanging out with josh he said mikey is def a good guy, but likes to mess with people sometimes.

Hey guys. My car is still idleing messed up. I've checked all my lines and everything apears to be hooked up. I even pinched some with my fingers to see if the idle got worse and it stayed the same. I've been all over the forums and I've found that the egr might be the problem as matt and mikey said to check the lines on them. I've seen that some people took the egr off and cleaned it and that got rid of the problem. I also saw that some of them deleted it from the ecu I think so it wouldn't read it and that helped. I'm just wondering if I should go ahead and take it off and clean it to see if that helps but I'm just curious if I can do this and if it will down the car for a while. I'm still a noob when it comes to the evo but I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Could the evo gods help me out? Sorry for the long post
Hey guys. My car is still idleing messed up. I've checked all my lines and everything apears to be hooked up. I even pinched some with my fingers to see if the idle got worse and it stayed the same. I've been all over the forums and I've found that the egr might be the problem as matt and mikey said to check the lines on them. I've seen that some people took the egr off and cleaned it and that got rid of the problem. I also saw that some of them deleted it from the ecu I think so it wouldn't read it and that helped. I'm just wondering if I should go ahead and take it off and clean it to see if that helps but I'm just curious if I can do this and if it will down the car for a while. I'm still a noob when it comes to the evo but I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Could the evo gods help me out? Sorry for the long post
if you are a maf setup is your bov recirulated.
check your plugs
check injectors
check the egr
check all your ic pipes
install a boost gauge and see if you are pulling close to 20vacuum at idle
hell even check timing, maybe your belt is worn and jumped timing a tooth or two
do everything you can think could be a problem first
My bov is reirculating, plugs got done may 5th by matt at spec ops(thanks), checked the egr and ic piping all seem secure, I'm at -15lbs at idle and I just got my 60k maint done about 3 weeks ago at all aspects. It was running fine up untill Sunday. The only thing that u mentioned that I didn't check are my injectors. So that should bemy next step?
my comments never had to deal with STM, i dont care if they have a shop here or not. Ill still drive 500+ miles like i have for 3 years now to get work done. Its the other thing that pissed me off. But yea there is no point to ruin this thread about this no more, whats said is said and its over as far as im concerned.

Hope we can. Its so frustrating. Make sure u bring ur flashlight! I think I've used it everytime we've met up lol. I'm tryin to get a sitter to bring the wifey but if I can't ill atleast go. U think mikey will bring his laptop to help troubleshoot this?
