DC emissions/inspection

Hi all, I'm in NJ, but will be moving to DC in June. My car is still a stock 9, but the mod bug is starting to itch. I am in the market for the Fujitsubo RM01A catback exhaust, and am wondering if it will pass emissions and inspection? Should I hold off getting it until after I pass emissions/inspection with my stock exhaust? I guess, I can wait a few more months, but I rather not. What are your opinions on this?

Fairfax county and most other counties in VA don't do a tailpipe emissions test anymore. Even if they did, you'd still pass easily with a catback. Now they just plug into your odb2 port, do a system readiness test, and check for codes and things like that.

so quick answer, yes you'll pass inspection.

why just go for a catback though, mind as well fork over a few hundred extra and get a turboback. just a suggestion.

Thanks. Loudness is a huge factor for me, but how much louder is a TBE compared to a catback?

i can't imagine it being a huge difference. muffler choice will be the biggest factor in how loud it will be. I have the magnaflow muffler on my turboback and it's only a little louder than stock.

Thanks. Something to consider down the road once I settle in my move.
