i'm looking for the best performing wet and dry street tire.

it's a little late in the season to be worrying about good street tires. if anything you should be looking for either a good winter or all-season tire. i've personally run with kumho on both my old lancer and my current evo with great results - definitely the best bang for your buck (and tire rack test results will prove this). i'm currently have kumho ecsta asx.

I did have some rubbing issues at first in the front. I went in and cut a bit of the splash guard out, and moved it around a bit, and I dont have any rubbing now. You should roll the back fenders though. I have a really stiff suspension so I havnt rolled mine yet. Havnt hit in the back, but its always a possibility.

those are r-compounds, they shouldnt be daily driven as they can get heat-cycled out (in other words, as they heat up and cool down, the rubber will harden and not stick anymore even though you have tread left)..

Toyo RA-1s last about 10,000 miles for daily driving.. I go through them about every 400 to 600 miles or so..

It depends what the original poster wants out of a daily driven car.. normally I just use 2 sets of tires:

Summer = Falken Azenis RT-615s
Winter = Michelin Pilot Sports A/S or Michelin Exaltos A/S

If you want one tire that can do it all for every season, just pick the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S.

getting all seasons for an evo is just downgrading your evo's performance. We don't get that much snow (at least around the dc metro area) and so you just want a good dry/wet , which the oem advans can do, but if cost is an issue, cuz they so damn $$$, then still get a dry/wet that performs just as well without the extra $. I went with Bridgestone Pontenza REO5OA pole position. Compare these to the stock Advans under "spec" at Tire Rack.com and you will see why I got them and plus I know of one local shop that uses them on their time attack evos. hope that helps.

Summer: Azenis 615s (I autocross on them and use them on the street, 1 set lasts 1 summer)

Winter: Kumho Escta ASXs (cost 86 bucks and should last me 4-5 winters nov-late march)

The Azenis 615 is a great street/autocross all purpose summer tire. The only tire I would recommend aside from it would be the Advan Neova (deals with heat better at autocross) which is way more expensive. Running around on r compounds on the street like RA-1s just seems weird to me when I can get Azenis 615s with more sidewall and better wear. The Ecsta ASXs don't suck at anything in particular, can drive on snow and were cheap. I don't do a lot of performance driving in the winter and they're reasonably safe tires. Just don't ever try to do anything resembling motorsports with the ASXs, I took them to a winter autocross once because i was too lazy to change my tires and the results were comical.

Whoa, hey, another Baltimore Ralliart Driver! I don't know if I've bumped into you before but I've seen a few silver Ralliarts in the area.

I just got some Hankook Ventus HRII's. They were cheap all season tires that are definitely better than the stockers. Great value. Hankook makes other tires too that are better in peformance.
