I've gone wingless....for now
Since I bought a VIII wing a couple days ago and won't get it for at least a week or two since its getting a fresh coat of paint and a new clearcoat for the carbon fiber, I'm now wingless since I just shipped my old wing to a guy that bought it off EvoM. /runonsentence

I haven't had time to take all of the adhesive off the trunk but I kind of actually like the wingless look. Hope it doesn't grow on me since I just bought a $350 wing....

Anyway its amazing how much more you can see in the rear view mirror. I knew it would obivously be more but now I feel like the back of the car is much more open. Oh well not going to stay like this for very long.
You will also notice that the cops dont pay as much attention to you with out the wing. Ive been wingless for a while now and it is a world of difference in the attention you get. And my car is loud too, the cops just drive right by and dont even look over.
Ive also grown fond of the wingless look. IMO for it to work, the car has to be lowered or slammed tho.

I agree. Stupid monster truck look... Any reccomendations? I was thinking something along the lines of Swift.
Well to make a long story short, Monday-Friday evening I'm below Baltimore (Glen Burnie to be exact) I only am in Bel Air Friday night to Sunday night.
Do you guys go the huge car meet behind Lowe's Friday nights? I go there from time to time, usually just drive through though since I've never seen any Evo's, only embarrasing Civics and various other ricers.
You guys have your meets on week days right?

I've had my car for 6 months now, so I would've thought I would've notice it by now.
Yeah I agree the car has to be lowered. It was either a VIII wing or intake and springs.
I felt I got a great deal on a practically brand new VIII wing so I jumped on it. Also the fact that GG only came on 05 MR's which there were only a handful of so trying to get a VIII wing for my IX was that much harder.
Luckily the guy I bought it from has a body shop so I gave him the manufacturer model color for my car and it will match my car perfectly. Also he's putting a new clear coat on it which is awesome.

I would prefer not to sacrifice ANY handling performance over the look of a drop.
I'd buy coilovers if I thought I'd actually need them but I think the stock Evo handles fine for me. For now at least. Plus I'm saving up for some cams and Alcohol.

Damn thats sick. Thanks man!
Do you sell a pair of springs for the MR since it has different stuts? I heard if you use springs for the regular IX it will mess the struts up.
I know Swift has 2 sets of springs, one for the regular IX and one for the MR.

Im still debating on going wingless. I just feel the wing MAKEs the car. I do like the attention, it would almost feel like it looks to "plain" for a "evo" But i must say i think it looks the best on silver or white. But you have to have the euro rear and the wing lip. That looks bad ***. We shall see what i feel like doing in a month or so.

I almost feel that the only reason I like it is because it looks soo much different then what I'm used to. As if in time I will not like it anymore on mine.
I was almost sure it was going to look stupid but I had to take the wing off because it was already paid for.
Definitely suprised. If there were no holes left behind I'd probably leave it off for a while.
Next thing I have to do is get the OEM mounting hardware and adhesive. Stopped by my local mitsu dealership earlier tonight and they said to call the parts department tomorrow to see if they have it in stock.

You're right...they won't work right.
