You install it yourself, or have the shop install your exhaust with the stock cat, then get home and change it out for the test pipe yourself. And as for inspection, you put the stock cat back on for inspection. Now go get your hands dirty

First off, when it comes to the install, you're going to have to mod the install of your o2 sensor or you're going to throw a cell. Which you could technically ignore though personally, I'm way to OCD about my cars to ignore a cell. There's threads on here about how to take care of that.
Secondly, if you do not want to be CAT-less, you can get a high flow that fits your TBE and replace the delete pipe with that in your setup.
There will be some cost to taking care of this though obviously. Most people do not particularly care about the emissions when doing this upgrade. Also, I may be wrong, but if you get your o2 housing right and avoid throwing a cell, you may not fail the emmissions test anyway since with new cars like these, they just use the ODBII for testing now. If it's not throwing a cell, you'll most likely pass. Although a simple glance under your car will fail you quickly. Then again, you could also weld an empty CAT around your test pipe to make it look like it's a CAT-ed system. Hopefully this will be enough for you to do some searching and figure out which route you want to take.

Good luck

Having a cat has nothing to do with inspections. As for emissions testing, your car is OBDII compliant and tested via plug and play. It's uncommon for VEIP to do a mirror check under your car. It's worth playing the odds.

+1.5 go to Agile. But before you do go to either Pep Boys or Salvos and get the Anti-Fouler (CEL FIX it plugs right into the o2sensor) it only cost $5.00 and your CEL will go away. I had Agile do mine and havent had a CEL since.

^^^^Anti-Fouler and Spark Plug Non Fouler are the same thing

Where are you from? The shop I work at will put it on for you and use a mechanical rear o2 mod so you won't get a CEL. If you're interested, PM me for more info.

i personally think i you want to save a little moeny you can do it yourself. with a complete new system you pretty much unbolt all hangers while still keeping the exhaust supported with a jack stand or somthing. then unbolt the two spring bolts from the downpipe to the o2 housing on the turbo and wha bam the entire factors exhaust comes off. oh and those two tie bars might need to come off that are right under the down pipe, you cant miss em.

intall of the new exhuast is just peice by peice from downpipe untill you get to the last peice (muffler).

or you can have a company install is not that expensive, but it is a fun project in my mind that would take maybe three hours if you really take your time and are new.

either way Good Luck!

and def do the antifouler you should be ok for emissions for a while at least.
