AMS Gaithersburg
But back on topic...
Since mike is gone... How much tuning experience does his replacement at MAMS have? Anyone know?
Do you care to elaborate on this. I always thought people tune on a dyno to get a feel of how it would perform on the street/track.
You dont have to watch for traffic, cops, people. Dyno is a controlled environment. Using a Mustang Dyno, you can create the same load a car sees on the street.
Dynos are for more than seeing how big your "*****" are

Then tune at a track then. Other than the "safety/ticket" reason, one is not superior to the other. But also not everyone has access to a dyno nor the money to shell out to rent one for a day. I love how Carlos and Jordan try to jump down my throat about me stating that Street tuning is another option since Mike no longer works at AMS. I was fully aware of the consequences that may occur for street tuning.

I wasn't jumping down your throat
You tell me which scenario happens within ALL racing shops...
a. you show up to the track with no tune and tune at the track?
b. you dyno tune and fine tune for air temps, altitude, direction of the sun, etc. at the track?
c. you street tune while heading to the track then fine tune at the track?
answer A and C are more along the lines of your thought process. Answer C will give you marginal results but it will be hard to take home the cake. Sorry dude... but B is where it's at.
everyone and their mother has a dyno in the NOVA area. Pick and choose there are tons of options. Not to mention the traveling tuners.
Just for FYI... I just find it odd that they replace a fairly new tuner with a tuner with no experience.
I have yet to hear or see anyone post anything about MAMS new tuner and his experience level. That's a pretty expensive dyno they have you know... bills got to be paid some how right?
I'm not bashing any business I just wondered that's all. I'm pretty sure that there are alot of people wondering the same thing. MAMS haven't made a single post about a thing with their tuner issue. Maybe they're waiting for the stars to align before they post or something?
Look man... not to bust your ***** or anything... I just thought that you were retarded for even trying to argue that street tunes can equate to dyno tunes.
The relationship couldn't have ended that badly between MAMS and Mike... I'd hope that he would still be able to buy contract usage of their dyno if he got enough people in for tunes kind of like dynoflash?
i was at AMS yesterday and the "new" tuner does have experience. he hasnt starting tuning yet, not until saturday. mike took all the cables and programs and what not. the "new" guy tunes his own car and has tuned many other cars with an AEM. i think everything will be fine...
