No. VA tuners/shops

I am currently in So Cal and have been going to RMR for work, but I am moving to N. VA at the end of the month. I need a new shop to install and tune parts for my Evo. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Well Altered atmosphere has the awd dyno and they have been doing some work for some Evo owners around here. They're in MD but only 40 mins away from No Va.

Turbo XS is developing parts for the EVO and they are in Gaithersburg, MD, which is about 30 minutes from the Northern Virginia area. They installed a Stage 3 kit on my brothers WRX and did the dyno tuning on their in-house AWD dyno. Highly recommended!

I haven't actually had any work done there, but you could try Curry's Auto Service in Chantilly or Sterling. I stopped by the Chantilly location, but didn't actually have anything done. I hear that the local WRX guys swear by Curry's as a performance shop -- many of the guys who work there are also racers/autoXers... http://www.currysauto.com/

Altered Atmosphere is a little further away in Gaithersburg MD. I think that Dan, the owner of Mach V Motorsports ( http://www.machevo.com/ ) has used them extensively for work on his Evo... http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/

Both Curry's and Altered have AWD dynos.

Curry's is also good. My brother had them install Renntech springs and do a performance alignment on his C32 AMG Mercedes. He also had them run it on the dyno for some baseline HP and Torque numbers. From what he said they are very knowledgable and are definitely big time performance car enthusiasts.

Yes, I've had Altered do work on my Evo, and have been happy with them.

I'll also recommend Ultimate Performance out near Dulles. I have had them work on several of my cars over the years. (They used to be CDE.) Not the cheapest place, but techs Mike and James are very accomplished. Phone (703) 435-5000.

You should do the randmcnally.com map thing and show your route. I'll be somewhere between KY and MS during that time.

So you will be in Memphis on August 8? I have family in Nashville and I will be only like an hour from you. Let me know if you want to meet up.

Oh, I forgot to mention.

I'll be in Norfolk, VA from Sep 8 till Sep 28. I was thinking about going to Nopi Nationals in Atlanta while I am there, If you guys want to meet up ang go down there, that would be sweet. 3 Evo's rolling back to back from VA to GA. Sound like a plan?

Don't know if I'll have Internet access when I get there. If anyone in No. VA wants to meet somewhere on the 9th or 10th (Saturday or Sunday), PM me with your phone number. I'll give you call when I get there and am settled a little. Mine will be the number with the (714) area code...

Big regional autocross on the 10th if you're into that kind of thing. At least 4 Evos are preregistered, although one of them probably will be a no-show...
