Hey guys whats going on. My name is Keith and I reside in Owings Mills, MD. I just bought my first evo about a month ago. It is a 2006 Evo IX SE. The color is Graphite Gray Pearl. I love the car. I want more power. What do you recommend. I am on a budget and want the most bang for the buck. I would like to catch up with you guys in the Maryland area.
Hey Keith..... welcome to the area!! Meets should be starting up shortly since the weather should get nicer.... I'm sure you can find one in your area! A couple of us were in Owings Mills not too long ago for a photo shoot... here's the link if you wanted to check it out https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=334790
The next big meet would be the College Park meet..... You can find the thread in the Mid-A...... also the DTM BBQ this Saturday (don't know how far that is for you). Always nice to have new local members.... don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
I'm assuming your car is stock right now?? Next question... are you worried about your non-existant warranty? If you are then my best advice would be don't touch it....
However if you're not concerned with it the basics would be exhaust, DP, intake, boost controller... I thnk those are nice starter mods.....

Oh yes.... forgot the tune.... lol
I think you met Jeramie 9evo8act) @ LaScuola Motorsports the other day..... he would highly recommend that shop for everything you need.... also kreionoic (evom screen name) will tune your car...... no one will treat it better than he will... he takes care of it as if it were his own or better!!

And so it begins...
Here's a good chance to meet up with some folks (see quote) and talk to a local tuner. I haven't personally been tuned by anyone other than Nick (owner of DTMotorsports), but I highly recommend at least talking to him. If anything, you can get a cheap Mustang Dyno pull and see where your car is. Go to their website, http://www.DTMinc.com , for the address. Their website front-end is still under construction so save yourself the trouble of trying to navigate to any of their items for sale.
There are a lot of tuners in the area, talk to people and see what they say, especially when you're budget limited.
Oh...and all the recommendations so far are more or less spot-on.
Good luck!

hey Keith. Congrats on the Evo purchase. I'm in your area as well. GG IX MR. We should hang out sometime... as for the mods.. depends on what you're looking for in my opinion. I'm one of those that believe in upgrading when you feel a need for it. A friend of mine races his Evo quite a bit. be it on track or .. what not... and he pretty much upgrades when he feels he can actually use the benefit therein. Generally speaking though, if you're looking for good starting power mods, then yeah, the suggestions you got already on point. Start off with your cars breathing. Intake and full TBE. You can go with a boost controller, or if you're not planning on boosting a whole lot over stock, you can go with the Ecu based boost controlling (my preference). Also... get to know CBRD... get to know them well

Hey Keith, sorry I missed you today while I was picking up lunch. I was told I missed you by 5 mins. Welcome to the forum and you definitely need to make some of the evo get togethers to hang and get ideas in person. This is the place (mid a) where most of them are arranged so keep your eyes peeled. The DTM barbeque will be a great one I am sure (hopefully the weather will hold out but I know its a rain or shine meet). I don't think the ride will be too bad out there. I will say all the above suggestions are great but don't forget the fuel pump if the boost is going to be cranked.

Thanks guys for welcoming me to the site. I appreciate it. I am looking forward to hanging out with you guys soon. EvoAngel thanks for the pics. I have seen three out of four of those cars. They are all nice.
Welcome I think everyone has said where to start with in terms of mods. TBE, MBC, Fuel Pump and tune is a great place to start.
Definitely should come out to the meets. I imagine they'll be back in full force by the begining of next month.
btw you wouldn't happen to have a friend thats also looking at buying an Evo would you?
