More bad luck. . .

I changed my oil today and while I was at it I was going to install a oil temp sender. So I started to loosen the passenger side wheel when my damn locking lug nut broke. Are you f*ckin kidding me!?! The little star whatever flower thing freakin shattered. WTF . I'm not a very big dude. How the f*ck do I get this thing off without jacking up my wheel and possibly jacking the stud?

Is it recessed? Which rims are you running? Did it break the whole end of the lug off or just the inside part? You may be able to slot or shape the outside of the lug and get it out that way. I wouldn't worry about jacking up the lug, you can get another one fairly inexpensive. The rim on the other hand. . . not so good.

They're stock wheels/lugnuts. It actually broke around the outside. I think I'm going to try dremeling it off. I've been kinda wanting to paint the wheels anyways, so I guess if I mess it up a little bit it won't be a big deal.

There are special tools to remove stripped lug nuts and locking lug nuts. Just go to a tire shop that has them and pay them to remove it. It will not damage the wheel.

People so often lose there locking lug nut keys that most tire shops keep the removal tools on hand.

No prob, good luck. Hopefully a local tire place will have a good set. Most places have a removal tool that is cone shaped inside that you have to bang on with a hammer and then use an impact gun on. These suck because you have to try over and over till they come off (if ever). I know because I used to use that kit (all that was available). Now I have an awesome set that has spiral teeth inside that bites harder into the lock as you turn it to the left. These work awesome. Snap on sells them if you have a local dealer and you could do it yourself. I don't know if Sears might have them in the Craftsman line. Again, good luck dude!!

go to your nearest dealer and buy another lug nut key, they should have a whole set of them, they just have to look at your lug nut to see which key will work

I have the key. The actual lug nut broke, so the key won't stay on.
